So, in my past posts, I’ve talked about all sorts of stuff about Twitch. I’ll put the links to those stories at the end of this post, so you can check ’em out if you are interested.

But right now, I want to dive into Pokimane and her choice to stick with Twitch instead of moving over to Kick.

Who is Pokimane?

Pokimane is a total legend in the online gaming and streaming world. Her real name is Imane Anys, is a Moroccan-Canadian Twitch streamer and YouTuber.

She burst onto the scene and quickly stole the hearts of millions of viewers with her infectious personality and genuine love for gaming. You can think of her as the Internet queen, ruling a kingdom of loyal fans.

One of the things that make Pokimane so special is her ability to connect with her audience. She’s incredibly down-to-earth and relatable, which is why people are drawn to her.

Whether she’s playing Fortnite, Among Us, or chatting with her viewers, she creates an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of her squad.

Speaking of her squad, Pokimane is known for her collaborations with other popular streamers and YouTubers. She’s not afraid to jump into games with big names like Ninja, PewDiePie, or Jacksepticeye.

These collaborations result in hilarious and entertaining content that keeps her viewers coming back for more.

But Pokimane isn’t just about gaming. She’s a multi-talented content creator who knows how to keep things fresh and exciting. She dabbles in various content, including reaction videos, vlogs, and even ASMR (yes, you read that right).

She’s not afraid to try new things and experiment with different formats, which is why her channel is always evolving.

Beyond her content, Pokimane has also become a role model for aspiring streamers and young women in the gaming industry. She’s shown that hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of personality can take you far.

Her success has opened doors for many others and has helped break down barriers in the gaming world.

Why won’t Pokimane leave Twitch for Kick?

Pokimane made it clear that she ain’t leaving Twitch for Kick, no matter what. She thinks it goes against her values and morals. You see, Kick is this new streaming platform that launched in December 2022 to compete with Twitch.

It’s known for being more relaxed with rules and sharing its profits generously. But they’ve been luring big Twitch streamers with mega contracts, like Amouranth and xQc.

During one of her live streams on June 20, a fan asked Pokimane if she’d join Kick for a cool $10 million contract. But she shut it down right away. She doesn’t just care about the money, you know? She’s happy with where her career is at, and joining Kick would mean she’s compromising her ethics and morals.

Pokimane gets why struggling creators might go for it, but for someone like her who’s doing well, it just doesn’t make sense. She also made it clear that she’s not judging others who join Kick, and she understands why xQc, who used to do gambling content, would be into it. But for her, it would be embarrassing and hypocritical.

By the way, the connection between Kick and gambling is no coincidence. Two of the guys who started Kick, Bijan Tehrani and Ed Craven, also founded an online casino called Stake.com.

They launched Kick right after Twitch banned gambling content, and it seems like the money from Stake.com is how they can afford those huge contracts. Kick even advertises the casino on their platform, which has some people thinking that gambling is their main focus, rather than being a real alternative to Twitch.

Final Words

Kick is also getting flak for its moderation policies.

Popular streamer Hasan Piker called them out for explicit content, and they’ve been accused of allowing racist usernames while forcing others to change theirs to favor newer accounts with more followers.

With all this controversy surrounding Kick, it’s no wonder Pokimane wants to stick with Twitch.
