Who can you trust when you've always been alone?

Eve finally reaches dry land, but soon discovers she has company.

When she encounters a mysterious group of children, she will have to grapple with the fact that not everything Wexler has told her was true. And if that's the case, what else about her reality is a lie?

Well this issue certainly takes us there and throws the rulebook out the window, that is if there were a rulebook to throw. I wasn’t expecting to see what we see here and the actions that were taken so all the kudos to Victor here for what he’s doing with the writing of this series. I don't know how many issues this will end up being but I have to say that if they are going to be as full as this one then I’m excited to see what’s going on next. I love being kept on my toes by not knowing what’s going to happen next and the way that this just keeps going with it’s fast and furious style pacing we’re going to be in for one hell of a ride.

I’m thrilled with the way that this is being told. The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is presented exceedingly well. The character development we see through the dialogue, the character interaction, how they act and react to the situations and circumstances that they encounter not to mention how they behave all play huge factors in how their personalities are shaped. The pacing is superb and as it takes us through the pages revealing the twists & turns to really surprise and thrill readers.

I am very much liking the way that we see this being structured and how the layers within the story continue to grow, evolve and strengthen. I like seeing how the avenues keep opening up for exploration and with the layers containing so much it’s great to see the depth, dimension and complexity being added to the story. This is heavy stuff in ways that really make an impact on how we see these events unfold. How we see everything working together to create the story’s ebb & flow as well as how it moves the story forward is impeccably achieved.

The interiors here are absolutely delightful. The linework is fantastic and how we see the varying weights and techniques being utilised to create the detail work is beautifully rendered. I love the way that we see backgrounds being utilised throughout the book and how they enhance the moments and how they work within the composition of the panels to bring out the depth perception, sense of scale and the overall sense of size and scope to the story. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a remarkable eye for storytelling. The colour work is rather brilliantly rendered. The various hues and tones within the colours being utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work shows a brilliant eye for how colour can and should be utilised for its maximum effect.

The way that all this is going I have to say I thrilled by it. There are different avenues that are open and I love seeing Eve’s father in the station I also love how that tied into the whole deal with the group that helped Eve out. The interconnectedness of it all is simply marvellous to see it’s like this plan has been in the works for a while now and I find interesting to see just enough to get more intrigued. The writing here is utterly stupendous with some incredible characterisation along with charming and delightful interiors Eve is this little gem of a book that you cannot let pass you by.
