Notwithstanding the success which Black Panther(2018) bought to the Marvel franchise, the production has come up again with another sequel to the addition. Though we may not see the late Chadwick Boseman but the film has hit the theatres with huge success. The film has already bagged 34 awards and close to 110 nominations to its name. And why not, the plotline has been drafted very apprehensively, the actors are highly talented and of course the CGI. I mean who can compete when it comes to Marvel’s CGI. The scene opens up where we see T’Challa, also known as Black Panther struggling for his life and how his younger sister Shuri(played by Letitia Wright) trying everything in her might to save his brother.

Though the fate of T’Challa was pre-written and he was destined to meet his ancestors, what was really captivating to me was the details that MCU, I guess for the first time was able to put down on the table was the tribal culture of Africa and how they managed to infuse that with the context of the film. From the dressing code of not only the tribe but of each member to the funeral rites, they were successfully able to deliver that it wasn’t just a superhero movie but rather a tribute to Chadwick Boseman who sadly died due to ‘Colon Cancer’.

So what’s in it for the fans if there is no Chadwick Boseman?

Well, it is true that you may not see Chadwick Boseman who may be the only reason for some to watch the movie due to his excellent capability of delivering the character but that's not all to Black Panther.

As Kevin Feige said, “ it's important that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever not only brings the same joy to audiences as the original film did but also touches on the legacy Boseman left behind, after his unexpected death in August 2020, following a private battle with cancer.”

So I guess for anyone as a fan of 'The Marvel Franchise' will hardly keep this movie as a secondary option to their list. This time for those who have not seen the movie but the trailer I believe that you can very extrapolate that the stakes are even higher than the first part of the movie.

Where in Black Panther(2018) , the movie majorly circled around ‘Vibranium’ (the core source of Wakandan's progress) and the fight for the throne between Black Panther(Chadwick Boseman) and Erik Killmonger(Michael B.Jordan) this time there is even a bigger threat looming over Wakanda or should I say beneath the Wakanda.

If you all remember in Black Panther(2018), the audience was introduced to the world of ‘Wakanda’ and how it became one of the most powerful nation in the world, all thanks to ‘Vibranium’.Well, here we see that Wakandans weren't the only ones blessed by Vibranium(the outer space mineral). Large chunks of it did penetrate into the ocean beds where people of ‘Talokan’ did gain access to it just like the Wakandans but never exposed themselves to the outer world. Their king, ‘Namor’ had gallantly protected his people up until now when the humans found out about their existence and their possession of Vibranium. So for the first time in centuries, he reaches out to the Wakndans, asking them to aid him in protecting his people and stand as one. Though things don't turn out to be as simple as they seemed to Namor and how from trying to be an ally he turns into one of the deadliest enemies that Wakandans will ever face.

Should it be on your watchlist?

Well if you are a die-hard Marvel fan then you must be knowing that usually the storyline of the Marvel movies are interrelated and even if you miss one of them then you will surely lose the chronology of events. Though the running time of the movie is 2h 15m which I personally felt a little overstretched. There were some scenes of Shuri and Nakia that could have been if not deleted then reduced. At the very start of the movie, you will find the 'funeral rites' scene of Black Panther a little bit boring and stretched but again as I mentioned, in the beginning, this was not a superhero movie, rather a tribute movie with superhero elements infused in it. So yes in that scenario the movie has done justice on its part and I believe for a one-time watch the duration is worth it!
