Why a Gamer makes the Best Boyfriend
an appreciation of pros of the introvert spirit
Tenacious. Strong-willed. Conscientious.
All are admirable traits when used to
describe, well, any man. But they especially
apply to a specific category of true hopeless
romantics: the Gamer.
Times of the past may have portrayed your
average video gaming enthusiast as lazy,
uncool, or unmotivated. But modern times
call for modern lessons, and an updated
model of boyfriend material is now readily
available.
Sit back and consider this, we as Americans
value a decent dose of motivational
inspiration in our every day lives, and the
men in front of the screen are offering to
match that energy. Loss after loss, most
gamers persist in their quest to either finish
a campaign solo style, or win rounds with
their friends for hours on end in an effort to
raise their status. Opposed to viewing this
as a non-productive hobby, it’s truly
endearing when the man in your life can
motivate himself for every challenge, just
for fun (and show commitment to his
friends in the process😍). This makes him a
solid support system in the long run!
Bonus Points! Your average gamer guy is
more creative due to this title. This makes
the possibility that you may grow bored of a
routine practically non existent. These men
apply their creative nature to all aspects of
their lives, and so naturally! Thought out
gestures and acts of the spontaneous variety
keep things interesting with your king of
tenacity.
Now, while simultaneously ignoring the
vanity check, let’s talk social status. The
1980’s were a glorious time of big hair and
breakdancing. But with arcades booming in
the late 70’s, the 80’s made for a glorious
video game era! At least, that’s what we see
now. That’s because the birth of video
games also became the birth of the video
game nerd. A negative stereotype flooded
out nation wide. From classic movies to
the PTA meetings, too much game = social
ineptude.
This isn’t generally the case nowadays, as
living through the largest technological age
in known history is generally considered
fascinating (wowee who would have
guessed!) and gaming is a skill that can even
be monetarily compensated. However, the
introverted title remains, which raises the
question,
Is it a bad thing?
Studies show that the average introvert
forms longer lasting meaningful
relationships as opposed to their
average extroverted counterpart (think
quality instead of quantity). James. A
Michener has said “Character consists of
what you do on the third and fourth tries”.
So while you may be initially hesitant, you’ll
realize your shy-guy has a great judge of
character. Their problem solving skills are
next level from years of mental stimulation,
and their intuition is like no other. So if
you’ve caught yourself a teammate for
this video game of life, you can always
expect to level up.
