Titanfall 2 was developed by Respawn and published by Electronic Arts(EA) on October 26 of 2016. The game had some hype, but EA gave more hype to Battlefield 1, which was released a week before Titanfall 2. Titanfall 2 was and still an amazing game, probably one of the best FPS of the generation, but EA flopped promoting the game and probably was released at the wrong moment. With Battlefield 1 already out and Call of Duty: Infinity War about to be released, there wasn’t much attention on Titanfall 2. The game had free DLC and it didn’t have a great amount of micro-transactions, only a few cosmetics for the Titans. Titanfall 2 was promising, until Respawn stop updating the game and the lack of content. After the release of the game mode “Frontier”, the game received few patches and that’s it. Titanfall 2 had everything in it to be fun, from the maps, game modes, to the movement of the players. It was great, you were able to run through walls, had uniques executions for the pilot and Titan. Each Titan had a unique way to execute another Titan.

With games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Infinity Warfare, Black Ops 3, and Lawbreakers, Titanfall made a name for itself. Remember, Titanfall 1 was the first one to introduced the futuristic genre to the current gen, and the hype for it was good, just know that Respawn are the same one the develop Modern Warfare 2 along side Infinite Ward. What they did with the first game was incredible, but took a step forward with the second installment. Adding a story, which it was really good to a point where you can talk about it to this day. It was simple? Yes. But it was intriguing and it has a solid campaign with a good story behind and a incredible plot plus all the interactions and fights on it makes really enjoyable and re-playable. Probably better than most campaigns of games that focus more on the multiplayer. The game even got nominated on the top 5 for the games of the year. That tells a lot of the potential of the game and that is why I think that Titanfall 2 could of be the best FPS of this gen.

Fortunately, Respawn used the chassis of Titanfall 2 to create one of the top battle royal of nowadays, Apex Legends. Respawn been doing with Apex what they didn't do with Titanfall 2, but if Titanfall 2 had the same maintenance, it would of be one of the greatest FPS of the current Generation. I might be sounding bias towards it, but I am glad that they are doing a great job with Apex. Respawn couldn't keep Titanfall 2 on the map for too long but Apex is carrying that greatness, even more now with the high request of battle royals. I just wish they keep with the plans of a third Titanfall for the coming gen and hope they make this third installment a whole new experience of what Titanfall is. As long as Electronic Arts (EA) doesn't shutdown Respawn, we will experience good games from and lets hope that EA doesn't go crazy with micro-transaction because that will definitely ruined what could potentially be something Amazing.
