You'll Be Amazed By What This Gamer Did With The Slog In 'Fallout 4'
I like to think that I can build a pretty mean looking settlement. However, every time I start thinking that I'm getting competent at it, the Internet goes ahead and shows me what else is possible and then it's back to the drawing board. Case in point, Tumblr user DionysusDreams has taken The Slog, a possible settlement in Fallout 4, and turned it into a thriving community with pretty sturdy looking defenses. When I saw the photos I had to reach out to her and find out what went into making this settlement into a defensible and cozy looking spot.

Late last year I wrote about my undying love for Spectacle Island and the amount of space and freedom it gave you when it came to building a settlement you can be proud of. I'm still tinkering with how I want it to look but for now I've turned my attention to The Castle, the one place I neglected the most.

When I found out that you could build settlements in Fallout 4, I knew that my days were numbered. I loved the idea and I took to it like water. A lot of my hours of gameplay were dedicated to scouring for resources, building bigger and better settlements, and learning from the last one so that the next settlement would be that much more fun to build and see grow. Out of all of them, my favorite has been the entirely isolated and extremely large playground that is Spectacle Island. But how do you even get there? Well, the fact of the matter is that it's kind of a bitch.
Jay VergaraPublished 7 years ago in GamersCould the 'Final Fantasy 7' Remake Be THE Definitive Version of the Game?
Word of warning: there may be some spoilers that people may wish to avoid. Right, I've been playing Final Fantasy 7 again of late, mainly since the remake was announced and it has got me thinking. I've been thinking about how the remake could be the best possible version of the game.
Alex HodgsonPublished 7 years ago in GamersIs Marvel Reviving The 'Ultimate Alliance'?
In recent years, it's become a truism that Marvel doesn't make great console games. But that wasn't always the case; back in 2006, we saw Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, a classic action role-playing game that saw players band together superheroes from across the Marvel Universe! 2009's lacklustre sequel, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, was based on the "Civil War" plot; since then, with only a few Spiderific exceptions, Marvel just hasn't performed well on the gaming side of things.
Fact Or Fantasy?: 'Final Fantasy' Producer Addresses 6 Popular Fan Theories About The Video Game Series
The Final Fantasy series is one of the most successful video game series of all time. Stretching across 15 main series games and countless spin-offs, the series has became one of the leading forces in RPGs. One of the most unique elements of the series is the fact that each game features a new cast of characters in a new world, and as such, the series is constantly evolving and experimenting with new systems.
Alex HodgsonPublished 7 years ago in GamersHow The Music Of 'Final Fantasy' Inspires Me When I'm Feeling Down
The Grammys are upon us, so the team here at Creators Media have challenged us to write about music (which is quite funny as my last article was about music too!). We've been challenged to write about a particular song that resonates with a seminal moment in our lives. However, I'm not the most exciting of people, nor am I a big music guy, so when I thought about a particular song and a certain moment, it didn't go so well.
Alex HodgsonPublished 7 years ago in GamersIn Defense of 'Final Fantasy 13': Does This Game Deserve Its Reputation?
The Final Fantasy series is a highly popular video game series that some would argue revolutionised role-playing games as a genre. What makes them unique is that each game is individual, featuring a new set of characters, a new world and a whole new story. The series is constantly evolving and is never afraid to take risks. For many (including me), Final Fantasy VII was their introduction to the genre and the series. There are many fans who would argue this is the pinnacle of the series, and is yet to be bettered. The latest (offline) installment of the series, Final Fantasy XIII, was met with a very mixed reaction indeed...

If you even have a passing interest in Dungeons & Dragons then you may have heard of the series Critical Role. It's a live, multi-platform role playing show featuring Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer (Overwatch) and Vox Machina, a troupe of voice actors including Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us) who've worked on multiple nerd related projects. The show's engaging, funny, and Mercer makes for a very good Dungeon Master. So much so that people have been hooked ever since Geek & Sundry rolled out their first episode on YouTube way back in 2015. The premise back then was pretty simple, watch a bunch of nerds play Dungeons & Dragons. But it was much more than that. The stories they were telling together were compelling and it was just fun watching friends interact with each other while playing a classic tabletop game.
Jay VergaraPublished 7 years ago in GamersClassic Inspiration
Classic stories are considered classic because they present a universal moral that can be applicable in a wide array of different media. They can be retold in several different ways, and often are. I want to investigate how literature can inspire the narrative of role playing games.
Lucas CarsonPublished 7 years ago in GamersMy Relationship with Video Games: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
I've been playing games all my life. I can't tell you how old I was when I first picked up a video game but I can tell you what the game was and the circumstances around it as if it happened yesterday. I was still living in the Philippines at the time and my uncle gave me his Game Boy—the first one which, as some of you may recall, was the big grey brick that needed a fistful of AA batteries to run. The first game I ever played on it? Mortal Kombat. I don't know if that was a good choice on my uncle's part, but luckily the Game Boy wasn't conducive to ultra-violence, if only because it was graphically incapable of rendering it. With a dot matrix display that started to fade when the batteries were running low, the thing could only do so much. But it did enough. It got me hooked.

Video games have been a favorite pastime since I was a kid. I love problem solving and prefer games that require exploration and strategizing. I stumbled upon Persona 5 when searching for something to play after completing Uncharted 4 and Life is Strange. I decided to give it a try since I'm stuck inside with rainy weather and a cold.
