Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic the Hedgehog was a huge success on it's original release for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in 1991, becoming a real, legitimate rival for Nintendo who dominated the video game market at the time with their mascot, Super Mario. Sonic the Hedgehog changed the game and showed that there was room at the top for two. Sega needed to capitalise on this newfound success, and they did so with the release of the imaginatively titled Sonic the Hedgehog 2, also released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis a year after the original, in 1992. Since its release it has been ported and rereleased on all sorts of different video gaming platforms, most recently for mobile devices in 2013 in a remastered version.
Dylan CopelandPublished 7 years ago in GamersWhy Are We Drawn to Punishing Difficulty in Games?
Difficulty in games has been on an interesting journey over the past three decades; the early generations of NES and SNES, where extra lives and continues couldn’t come soon enough, turned into more modest offerings in 3D. In the first half of the 2000s, we saw a tough title here and there, such as Ninja Gaiden’s 3D outings, but these were mostly relegated to the hardcore crowd before gaming went mainstream in 2007.

Everyone has fond memories of cartoons as children. Whether they were classics — à la Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny — or more modern, cartoons are an integral part of childhood entertainment. However, cartoons can have a scary side.
Skylar BanachPublished 7 years ago in GamersSonic The Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog is by now a globally recognised icon, but even the most bombastic of icons has to have a humble beginning, and Sonic's story begins in the appropriately titled 'Sonic the Hedgehog', often affectionately known as 'Sonic 1', being the place where it all started. Originally released on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in 1991, it has since been ported to a large number of other outlets and devices, most recently in 2013 for mobile devices in a remastered edition. A game over 25 years old is still in demand, still widely played and recognised by gamers and casual players alike.

Oblivion hit me in all the right spots. Despite coming out way back in March 2006, it does not feel dated. Its vast visual appeal and genuine high-fantasy setting remain incredibly captivating. I spent many hundreds of hours within the game, creating at least six characters and completing the main quest line with four of them. Despite all of this time commitment, I am yet to feel anything resembling boredom when returning to this experience.
Chris RoomePublished 7 years ago in GamersTop 10 eSports Games/Divisions for eSports Organizations
These are games which are great for eSports organizations. 10. Call of Duty Call of Duty is, for most people, the game they play to get into eSports. This is also one of the first "Rated Mature" games that a teenager will play. As an eSport, this game is a way to spread out in age and maturity as players. Leagues are almost non-existent for amateur players, as well as only single LANs or wagered tournaments. This is a red flag to an eSports organization since, if you're going to sign a team, you will want them for multiple tournaments to win games and prizes. Stereotypical Call of Duty teams don't seem to stick, due to immaturity of players and how an ego can maybe get into the way of playing and the relationship between players.
5 Ways the 'Pokemon' Games Are Evolving for the Better
For we millenials, Pokemon has been around for as long as we have. We grew up with all these Pocket Monsters, trying to "catch 'em all," but now we've evolved and gotten older. The Pokemon franchise has been rapidly growing in popularity (again) just over the past decade, and it's had to make some adaptations to keep itself fresh and new. And let me tell you, these changes have been spoiling we Pokemon players rotten.

Hello, and welcome back to Silver Linings where I find the best and weed out the worst. Halloween is my favorite time of the year. I get the perfect excuse to dig out the monster movies and games (like I really need an excuse considering I already coveredtwo horror movies last month). They eat up the entire month of October for my girlfriend and me, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Adam WallacePublished 7 years ago in GamersWhy Microtransactions Are Killing Game Audiences
Two topics that have been frequently popping up in gaming news for the past few years are Microtransactions and DLC (Downloadable Content). Are they good? Are they bad? Do they benefit the studio or the publisher more, and can they be used in such that does not upset the ecosystem of a game?
