10 Tips for Plant Tycoon

This article is about the PC game Plant Tycoon by Last Day of Work and easily found on Big Fish Games. Please keep in mind that this article doesn't contain real advice for growing a plant business and only contains advice valid for the video game. Unfortunately, I don't actually know how to get rich quick in real life, only in Plant Tycoon.

1. You can change the in game speed.

As I'm sure you have already noticed, this is a slow pace game ... so getting started does require some time and patience. However, once get some upgrades then things start to speed up a bit. With that said, you can actually increase the game speed in the settings.

Quick Tip: Clicking on the faucet on the Main screen (greenhouse) produces random, helpful tips for success in the game.

2. Start with Common Plants

The more rare the plants the better soil and water they require to stay healthy. The only way around this as a newbie to the game is to breed, grow and sell common plants until you can save up for better soil and water.

Even when you are stuck only growing common plants, there a few that will make a lot more money than the rest. So keep a look out for what each one costs.

3. Catch those bugs!

If for some reason you find yourself in a bit of a pickle and have no money or seeds left... you don't have to start the game. I mean, you can if you want ... but there is another way too. Catching Bugs!

4. There is no shame in changing the game difficult to easy.

Since it's such a strange real-time strategy game to begin with it can be easy to forget about your plants for a day ... so why not switch the game to easy mode? You will be happy you did on those days, trust me.

5. Throw out some plants

If your plants are steadily losing health, then they are too fragile for the soil they are planted in ... and it's probably better to just throw them away.

Quick Tip: If a pollinated plant dies, you may still be able to harvest its seeds.

6. Self-Pollinate The Money Makers

Cross-pollinating different species can help you get more valubale plants ... but it also risks getting much more fragile hybrids as well.

7. Isola Soil and Isola Water

Be carefull how you spend your money. I Know it's tempting to buy plant rescue and save those plants ... but the truth is that your first priority is to save up for the Isola Soil. Then you probably should get he Isola water. Once you have these, you won't even need the plant rescue any more.

8. Get your first The Magic Plants of Isola

The first magic plant that you should get is The Four Petal Maple, magic tree of fragrance. It's possible that you have already stumbled across this plant by accident already, but if you haven't then this is the first magic plant that you should make.

These magical berries cause customers in your nursery to more eagerly spend money... not just on this plant, but on all plants. This effect is auto-matic and permanent. The plant has been re-potted in a golden pot and moved to your nursery.

The essence of this flower gives you great insight and wisdom. Now you know exactly what each plant is worth. From now on your plants are automatically priced much closer to their true value.
