Common Man's View: 'Extinction'
Extinction, a Good Universe production and recently released Netflix film, presents the story of Peter (Michael Pena), the father of a family faced with the “extinction” of the human race following an alien invasion, or at least, that's how it's advertised. This high science fiction thriller wastes no time getting into the action, initiating the movie with a nightmare from the viewpoint of our protagonist as aliens invade Earth. Anyone intrigued by the idea of an alien invasion movie with more than one consciousness blasting twist should stop reading this review and go watch the movie with a safe assurance from your common man that this is a movie worth watching twice. So...I think between stellar acting, a few good reveals, and a plot that I can enjoy twice, we're giving her a five out of five!
Caleb ShermanPublished 6 years ago in Futurism'Ghost in the Shell': When Live Action and Anime Don't Mix
I've been known for keeping an open mind when it comes to movies. I have been pleasantly surprised more than once, and even the bad stuff at least gives me experiences worth talking about. Such is the case when my girlfriend and I sat down to watch the 2017 live adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. The original anime from 1995 would show up on both of our lists of the greatest animated films of all time. Needless to say, we were likely to be very critical, and it didn't take long for things to come up that angered us. I wouldn't go so far as to call the live action version the worst movie ever or anything; as far as I'm concerned, nothing's worse than The Black Dahlia. However, its issues absolutely disgusted me.

Hello, one and all. The first Jurassic World feature in 2015 would be the ultimate mind-blower for me. As a fan of the first two Jurassic Park films with a so-so feeling for the third, much shorter installment, I always knew what the charm was of this series.

Ready Player One, the movie based on the novel originally written by the author Ernest Cline, was a movie I personally really was looking forward to, as I quite enjoyed reading the novel. I have a lot to say about this movie, but for the sake of not making this post too long, I'll stick to a few points, mostly looking at the changes that were made.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not seen the movie! First of all, I cannot believe I am just now hearing about this movie. It came out in 2008 and I only just watched it last week. (Yes, 2008 was actually a decade ago. Yes, it is weird for everybody.) If you have spent any time on musical.ly recently, you might have seen people do one called "Zydrate Anatomy". (“Zydrate come in a little glass vial…..”) This is the movie it is from. Apparently, this movie is a cult classic right up there with The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I believe it. It features a thrilling soundtrack, gory visuals, and plot twists along the way. I have seriously never heard of it. I may just be completely clueless, it wouldn’t be the first time, but I can’t be the only one right? (Cue crickets in the background.) I did, however, recognize some of the actors/actresses.

On June 22nd, 2018, Universal Pictures released the second installment of the Jurassic World movie series and fifth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise entitled, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Directed by J. A. Boyona, a semi-famous horror film director, this sequel goes from another day on dinosaur island to a haunted house movie within two hours.
Joseph PecherPublished 6 years ago in Futurism'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' Review
It was only a few years back that amidst all the reboots and sequels being pumped out, all I wanted to see was a fourth Jurassic Park movie, a chance to relive my lifelong love of cinematic dinosaurs and oversized monsters on the big screen. When the first Jurassic World finally hit, it was a bitter reminder that not all beloved franchises need a revival, and its sequel, Fallen Kingdom, only reinforces that notion. There's some fun to be had with the occasional dino thrill and some interesting ideas presented, but on the whole it's tired, tedious, and flat out incompetently written, screaming to the audience at every turn that none of the cast or crew actually wanted to make this.
"Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" Movie Review
I remember June 1993 quite well. I was ten years old, school was days away from culmination for the year, and the highly anticipated and historic movie, Jurassic Park, was finally let out of its cage to dominate the summer box office. Back then, seeing the lifelike dinosaurs with the latest and greatest CGI technology was a HUGE deal and it was terrifying to kids because it looked so real. In 2018, great CGI is pretty commonplace in movies and we do not really get to experience that "wow factor" we all once did back in 1993 seeing the first huge dinosaur to grace the massive screen. Sure, CGI today is impressive and better than ever but, it will never be that gigantic leap forward experience like Jurassic Park's offering in 1993.

In the days leading up to watching the film dedicated to the galaxy's most loveable smuggler, I’d read mainly positive comments and reviews. The second of Disney’s origin type Star Wars stories is highly entertaining and gives a fresh, deeper dive the galaxy far, far away.
