The Corona Virus Pandemic is Earth’s Revenge
I know what a lot of you are probably thinking through this quarantine period, “How did this all start?”. If you’re like me, you’ve probably grown tired and frustrated from scrolling through social media and seeing this virus quickly spreading across our planet by the day, already having taken thousands of lives from us too soon. Through this, you’ve probably heard multiple rumoured causes behind this, and in the last while it’s really made me do some thinking, and in turn do some reasarch.

The consequences of climate change are rising at an alarming rate. South Asian floods, Amazon rainforest fires, East African droughts and Australian bushfires are just a few examples of the devastation caused by climate crises.

The benchmark for a public space is quite low where I live. Brisbane City Council has a page on their website for their publicly designed, owned and managed spaces, which features two squares, three malls, one event space, and the local cemeteries. When I think of a place I want to relax or socialise in, a cemetery is not exactly what I am aiming for. The Council must know something about a commune of ghosts that I don't.

The hazy dynamo of price tags and corpsed land has forsaken our cherubim past, once true and wild, to a casual and fierce gulag. Spellbound in the turbulent fear of a barren wallet, our leaders have proved to be content with pitching our children into a breatheless darkness unknown to our kind. How desperate have we become? We watch while morose men without hope, peddle our own weary Mother’s blood on the beaten streets for a clumsy red cent. We watch while cutthroat pimps bargain our Mother’s womb to the dead hearted factories. We watch while the cheap and earless choke our Mother’s watery neck with their tired garbage. All of this for a heartsick comfort in a crucified land. Thus, here we stand, hypnotically entranced while guerrilla politicians wage a penny war with our sad and noble Mother.

A LETTER TO PLANET EARTH From: Dr. Scout Cloud Lee, Author, The Circle Is Sacred, Sworn To Fun: Celebrate Every Little Thing, SHAZAM: The formula for getting what you Really, Really, Really want, and a Cowgirl from Oklahoma
Dr. Scout Cloud LeePublished 4 years ago in Futurism“Do you really care?”
As children, Do you ever recall looking at the sun, Just staring straight at it, Because it was so beautiful. Almost as if it was something that seemed so surreal.. Soon the sun will be blocked out by clouds, We someday won’t be able to see the gorgeous sun anymore and the earth will fall into pure darkness but “Oh, It doesn’t matter!” Or maybe you were more into nature, The trees, The gorgeous forest. Climbing trees was an absolute blast, The leaves with the sap clinging to the hands of any child who dared to climb. Climbing as high as you could go and hanging upside down. Soon the trees will be upside down, Burned to the ground with the ashes of childhood laughter. Because the forest fires dont seem to matter to anybody who doesn’t care. Or maybe you were more into the ocean or ponds! The gleam of the sun as it hits the gentle waves, Creating a gorgeous view. As the water hits your face a smile could show as you realize just how beautiful it is. The sand or dirt at the bottom, Fun to hold and play with aswell. Soon, The oceans will be so polluted with trash and garbage that swimming will no longer be allowed. The oceans we once loved will no longer be oceans, They will be toxic waste dumps. What about the sweet innocent animals that inhabit that ocean? Oh them? Well you see, They’re gonna die. If the toxicity of the trash doesn’t get to them the actual trash will, And as the trash fills up the Ocean they will eat it. Thinking “Food!” But sadly they would be mistaken, They would eventually die from plastic intake, But who cares right? What about the star watching? An absolute favorite, Admiring the beauty of the stars above. As the glimmer and shine the true beauty is shown as an absolute masterpiece. Connecting stars or maybe counting them to see if we could find out how many there are. Soon, We won’t be able to see the stars at all. They will be invisible and every night as the sun sets the sky will turn black, Not sparkly, Pure black. Due to the pollution levels in the atmosphere the stars will be all gone! Because you couldn’t pick up your chip bag and decided “Someone else will do it for me.” Now the people who loved the stars cannot love them any longer. But, Who cares right? You remember playing at the parks right? Oh the excellent parks! Each piece of equipment designed for a child’s enjoyment. Monkey bars, Slides, Little tunnels all designed to make laughter come out. As the sun gleamed on the equipment it almost seemed nastolgic. But soon, Children won’t be able to play on those playgrounds anymore.. Air pollution will beat them to it! Maybe they won’t even be able to leave their houses, Because they’d become so sick from the pollution that they would die. But... Who cares... Right? People are always putting people out, “Oh, You have no idea what you’re talking about!” But in reality, Some of us know exactly what’s going on. And to be honest, It’s sad. It’s really, really sad. Seeing how our earth is slowly going down and soon how it’ll be nothing but simply dirt and rubble, Let’s get a little deeper. You know the place you call safe? Well soon the place you think is safe won’t be safe, Because nukes or bombs will hit it, Making it so radiated and toxic that it’s no longer “Safe”. You know the place we call school? Well soon we won’t be able to attend school. Because all the diseases spread through the air will reach us before we can get to the school and they will knock us out like a group of bullies. You know the place you call “Home”? Well, Soon your “home”, Will be nothing but ashes and dirt. Because either the fires or nukes will reach it or the outbreak of rebellion will. You know the place we call “Earth”? Soon... Soon, There will be no such thing, It’ll be like a made up fantasy. You’ll recall how beautiful it looked, But compared to what it’s come too... You’ll realize something, The earth died. The sad thing is we had a chance to save it... But not enough people wanted too... Not enough people could gather up the strength and courage to say “Let’s save this planet!!” Because not enough people cared. Not enough people even realized what was happening. However, Too many people put kids and adults down who were trying to speak out the truth. Blinded by the sad reality that in fact, The earth was dead. And by the time it is dead, There will be nothing we can do. Because not enough people cared.

I rarely am wary of “moral” calls from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), especially animal welfare ones, notably PETA.

We are all micro versions of the macro Earth we live on. We have lungs like trees that usher air in and out; We have veins like rivers whose flow is life-giving;

I've been traveling and shooting in 99 countries. For the past 7 years, I’ve seen the different sides of our world: both amazingly breathtaking and disgustingly ugly. That's is how the idea to create this video has been born. The scientists are claiming that we have only 10 years left to change our behavior, and if we won't the greenhouse effect will be irreversible, this sounds overwhelming and frightening. So the thoughts are coming: What will we leave behind?
Oleg ShevchyshynPublished 4 years ago in FuturismPlants That Accumulate Heavy Metals
By: Marlene Affeld When out prospecting, have you ever noticed that some native plants flourish in one location and not another? Geobotany, the scientific study of the distribution of plants that hyper-accumulate heavy metals, has proven a valuable tool when prospecting for mineral anomalies, however it is one that is often overlooked in the search for gold deposits.
Marlene AffeldPublished 4 years ago in FuturismSave the rainforests, save the planet.
Rainforests are some of the most vital ecosystems we have on the planet, and have recently been shown to be one of the most effective TOOLS we have in the fight against climate change. Despite this, we're destroying them at a rate of over 80,000 acres a DAY, fueled by extractive industries like animal agriculture, oil, and logging. Some scientists now estimate that we could see the last of our rainforests destroyed in just over 100 years if we continue at the current rate of deforestation.
