A LETTER TO PLANET EARTH

From: Dr. Scout Cloud Lee, Author, The Circle Is Sacred, Sworn To Fun: Celebrate Every Little Thing, SHAZAM: The formula for getting what you Really, Really, Really want, and a Cowgirl from Oklahoma

Sons and Daughters of the Stars, Tribal Members of the Great Central Sun,...A laughing and loving heart to all who walk this healing road on Earth. My heart has become even larger toward you in the midst of this political season. I am a corporate CEO, a motivational speaker, a song-writer/singer, author, horsewoman, and carpenter from Oklahoma. I live my life to honor our Protector/Creator and our ancestors. For many years I have shared Earth Etiquette with the corporate world, understanding that we all share one small blue planet. Her resources belong to us all. I understand that we are all stewards, here temporarily, to care take our own bodies, our families and friends, our animals and creatures, and the Earth Mother on which we live. We are here to fulfill our vision and individual destinies in harmony with one another and in balance with all of nature. Now more than ever, we must realize that our wealth lies in our ability to share. There is more than enough for every man, woman and child.

Our innocence was ripped from our souls the morning we woke to rubble and smoke of 9-11. We watched Katrina devastate our own New Orleans and Gulf Coastline. We watched Matthew rip up coast lines of small islands and our own USA. We’ve watched our leadership with the Paris Peace Pact be abandoned. Our sweet Mother Earth is getting hotter and wetter. We are enduring the horrors of a political season like no other. I have been to hell and back in my emotions, thoughts, and feelings. One moment I am a proud patriotic American and Global citizen and the next moment I want to crawl under a rock. Through it all I return to my core beliefs and my roots. The time of the missile and the bomb are over. As Sister Teresa said, “Feed your own at home”. This is a time of great accountability and consequences for our actions. No greater or lesser thing stands in our trail unprovoked. We must have the courage to face our conditions and accept responsibility for the variables that created our conditions. We must solve our current problems without creating new ones for our children and their children. We must learn to relate to one another, rather than create more separation. We must rely on the power inherent in the flow of great forces rather than on personal dominion over others. We must turn our focus toward nurturing rather than fighting, and toward supporting rather than destroying. There’s power in the grass that grows through the rocks and there’s power in a flower grown wild. There is no power in an ivory tower like the power in the heart of a child. Gentler forms cannot be held down. They are re-emerging like grass growing through concrete. Our most wonderful gifts will be brought forward as we come together, not only in tragedy but in high celebration. TOGETHER IS THE KEY.

It is not so much a question of whether the lion will one day lie down with the lamb, but whether we human beings will be able to join together with each other and all of creation. In the wake of current events, we have an unprecedented opportunity to make ourselves more a part of our Earth, Sky, and all things between. As we do so, there will come a way to save our people and our beautiful planet. When we sit around the council fires of our hearts, and greet the day with songs, we will become one body, one heart beating, each a little stream coming together to make a great river. We will be lifted to high places where we will see that all of our rivers run to the one great body of water that embraces our precious homeland, planet Earth.

We can no longer sit around tables with our mouths full of talk and our hands empty. We can no longer fail to respect each person for their differences. We must see clearly that each of us face a slightly different direction for our protection and for our

amusement and joy. We must come to see that animals, insects, and plants are to be treated with the kind of respect one customarily accords to high-ranking adults. We must see that life is a circle and everything in it has a sacred place. We must again lift our women high and revere their ways of peacefulness, harmony, cooperation, and general prosperity. We will again see that no people can be defeated as long as their women’s hearts are strong.

We must re-remember that the heart of man is made to champion and power the dreams of his children and his children’s children. We must again see that the welfare of our young and our elders are of paramount importance, for therein is held all wisdom for our future. We must learn to understand with our hearts rather than our heads. We must come to value genuine courtesy, willingness to share, egalitarianism, acceptance of all lifestyles, optimism, and equal rights for all. We must learn to act in order that we might see, not that we might be seen. We must learn to be the type of warriors who regard nothing in their lodge too sacred for the giving for the good of the whole. And we must aspire to a leadership style where that which remains in our hearts is the joy of giving.

We must stop our rationalizing about how the unbalancing occurred, and focus on how the balance can again be achieved. We must become again like little children who choose leaders based on trustworthiness. We must regain our freedom, our roots, our myth, and our magic. We must remember that trees produce precious oxygen and are not for the raping and tearing away with bulldozers. We must learn that the thing in which we spend our attention grows in profusion. We must learn to spend our total attention investing in the beauty in all things around us. We must remember that only the bee stores more than he can use, and so she is robbed by the bear and the coon, and the human. It is so with people who store and make themselves fat with more than their share. They will be stolen from. And there will be wars over it, and they will make long talks trying desperately to hold on to more than their share. They will wave their flags and say that they deserve more than others, but nothing will change the way of nature’s balance.

We have the power within us to conjure up the healing that we all so need. Our life is in our own hands, as is our death. It is said, “Knock and the door shall be opened. Ask and you shall receive. Whatsoever you do to the least of these, you do unto me”. We are the World! Only if we have reason to fear what is in our own heart need we fear for our planet. May we hold all of life sacred so that we can restore a World in balance. Through this healing process may we teach ourselves true peace. May we know the power that is peace, and ...pass it on! It's time to Dig Deep! Reach Far! Break a Sweat! Finish Strong!

Let Peace Reign!
