Prometheus's Quest

On August 17, 1778; during the greatest storm known to man, pirate king, Yosemite Sam went on a voyage to England where they would liberate the city of Townshend. This king was unlike other pirates: he was as fair and just as he could be. On his way to England, he was ambushed by other pirates looking to steal the precious cargo the king carried. The Cargo on the king’s ship, Ol’Luna was 10 enchanted rings. When the power of the rings was combined, they became a dark crystal. If wielded properly and by one worthy the crystal could, transport a user anywhere on earth, give someone a sense for when danger approaches, glimpses of the future, and the ability to temporarily warp reality itself, depending on the will of the user. Or so Miles’s father, Titus, told. Miles’s father was a kind old man who loved his son very much. Growing up Titus told the Story of the dark crystal to his son Miles. Ever since Miles has been inspired to search for the rings. Soon after the story Titus told his son, for the millionth time, the two went on a fishing trip. During their trip heavy storms hit and they both blacked out. When Miles woke up, he was on a deserted island with his father nowhere in sight as he had previously fallen off the boat and into the oceans. Miles searched desperately for his father and came up on a shipwreck. Jack could not make out the name of the ship, so he explored. In the back of the ship jack saw a golden chest and ran to it, needing to see what was inside. At first Miles struggled but soon finished picking the lock and saw 10 blue and black rings glowing.

Astounded Miles tried them on and instantly felt a surge of power. Then, suddenly he was back in his home then in at the docks in England, where he first went fishing with his father. Next Miles was at the shore of the island he was on. Miles couldn’t understand what had happened and so he went to see if there was anything he could salvage. With his father’s death weighing on his heart Jack thought of his fondest memories of him and suddenly wound up back at the docks in England. A small group of pirates happened to witness Miles teleport in and out of the docks, and so they captured and took him to the new pirate king, Prometheus. Prometheus had a cruel and evil soul, with greed corrupting his every decision. Impatient with his servants he went to the palace walls looking in jealousy at the kings before him when his first mate Gwendolyn came to him and reported a capture. Thinking that the captive could be an English spy he headed over to execute him. When he arrived at Miles's cell The pirate who captured Jack explained how he teleported in and out of the docks and how they thought it had something to do with the rings he had been wearing. Recognizing the rings from old legends Prometheus forced Miles to come with him and show him how to use the rings. In the beginning Jack refused but after being brutally beaten Jack started to comply when an army of British soldiers broke through the walls and started attacking, the British lead by Miles’s uncle captain Daviss, Daviss trailing the ship to find Prometheus’s palace recognized his nephew Daviss went and free him from his shackles and made him hide aboard the British ship even though Miles explained how he couldn’t until he had the ring back, knowing what Prometheus would do with them.

Miles headed straight for the King knowing he was outmatched but he knew he would need to do everything in his power to get the rings back. Miles at first surprised the king with a punch to the face but the king quickly recovered and took Miles hostage. Miles tried to escape but couldn’t and captain Daviss was calling a retreat. Knowing it was either die or escape, Miles gut-punched the king and fled for the ship, barely making it aboard before the walkway closed. Daviss stormed over to miles and demanded an explanation. After a long argument Captain Daviss set sail for England. Once in England, Miles went to the great library and found a book on the Dark Crystal and showed it to his uncle. In the story there was a device that if used allowed those unworthy to use the ring but at a heavy price. Miles’s uncle, finally realizing that the king probably had the device and what the king would do, gathered an even larger force, and set sail for the Pirate palace. Prometheus, knowing the tale of the dark crystal by heart, went to the gardens of belvigiech to get the device capable of harnessing the power of the rings, even allowing a user to turn the rings into the dark crystal nearing the pirate compound Miles prepared for battle, grabbing a sword, and small pistol just in case. Finally arriving at the palace gates Miles and the British attacked. Feeling the call to the rings, Miles swung from a rope over most of the battle and landed in a large whole blown into the palace.

Prometheus arrived at his throne room and activated the device. Out of nowhere an explosion came from the device and knocked Prometheus across the throne room, but through the haze of the smoke he could partially see a black light spread across the room and hit him with a force of insurmountable power. Feeling drawn to the newly created crystal, Prometheus scrambled across the floor and picked up the crystal. Now feeling more powerful than ever before. Miles felt a new, dark presence. He knew this new presence was the king, and he knew what the king had done. Miles raced to the throne to confront the king, surprise attacking any pirates that stood in his way . Prometheus saw a person enter the room assuming it was the kid, he charged right at him and narrowly missed, driving him back away from the entrance. Meanwhile he was ranting about the side effects of the rings. Not listening he charged again, forcing the kid to retreat. Now realizing the kid will dodge him every time he pulled out his sword and the kid did the same.

Narrowly dodging another Attack from Prometheus, Miles kept pleading with him to take off the crystal he had worn around his neck, explaining how it would only make him worse, greedier. He explained how all his bad traits would only be amplified. After a ferocious assault on Miles, Prometheus decided to test his newfound powers and so he tried to literally turn Miles inside out. Just before the effects could take place, Prometheus's first mate Gwendolyn shot Prometheus straight through the heart instantly killing him. Gwen then took the Crystal of Prometheus's now dead body and gave it to Miles, she also revealed she was the true heir to the throne for she was the daughter of Yosemite. The Giving of the crystal to Miles signified a new era. One of peace and prosperity. Miles then was given a ship and set sail on a sunny horizon and Gwen took the throne, liberating many cities from the cruelty of king George.
