The Matrix: Sci-Phi...?
What if I told you that no one can be told what the Matrix is, they can only be shown? What if I said that the laws of physics protected this exact knowledge from ever being realized from inside of the Matrix? What if I wrote this whole article with “What if” statements? Nah, that’d be bloody insufferable. However, I wanted to illustrate that certain fundamental things about the universe may very well prevent our ever being able to see what the purpose of everything really is. An excellent philosophical analogy, believe it or else, is “The Matrix” series by the Wachowski siblings. It involves a much grander scale, and obviously, that movie was a work of fiction: art. However, the purpose of art is to convey ideas through a medium, and in this case, the medium is story telling.

Doctor Who: Empress Of Mars Review
Having wrapped up the Monks trilogy that had come to define much of the middle of this season, Peter Capaldi's Doctor looked set to continue his last hurrah with the return of an old foe. The Ice Warriors, reptilian warriors from the planet Mars were one of the most iconic monsters to come out of the classic series of Doctor Who but had featured only once previously in its 21st century incarnation (ironically enough in Matt Smith's final season as the Doctor in 2013). Written by Mark Gatiss, Empress Of Mars would not only bring the Red Planet warriors back but fill in part of their story while also telling an immensely satisfying SF action/adventure story along the way.

Animality: Prologue & Chapter 1
The average male lion weighs between 350-400 pounds & grows up to nine feet long, three feet in height. Like us, lions have thirty teeth. Wild lions have a life span of twelve years, but in captivity can live up to twenty years. His maximum speed is thirty miles per hour over fifty yards. Lions have less bone mass than other animals of comparable size. Lions are able to move quietly due to the soft pads on their paws. They are even able to pinpoint the location a particular sound originated from. A typical Lion's Pride could consist of three males & possibly ten females. Though the females are the renowned hunters of the Pride, the King usually eats first. Usually, lions won't attack as long as you're facing them, just better hope they're not hungry.

Brotherhood
“Why is the sun always so bright?” I thought as I walked home from school. The heat I can handle, but the way it always seems to shine upon my face blinding me can be annoying at times. I’ve always preferred the night when everything is quiet and dark. No bright sun, no loud people, nothing that comes with the everyday living of the day.

How Is Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory Identified?
Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory (abbreviation HSAM) is an extremely rare kind of memory that enables a person to easily retrieve details of every day of their life (or since they were young children). In my case they’re from every day since I was little over a week old.

Yan And The Wanderer
They called me Yan. A name given as nothing more than a form of distinction from the rest of us young ones. Such markers of identity were beaten out of a person from birth. It latched onto me like a thorn, refusing to be expunged. It may not even have been my first name, if one was ever given, the significance of such things lost in the shadows. Yan is who I was and Yan is what it would remain. I was taller than most of the others around my age, but not by much. Could you single me out for that one trait? Possibly. Would you attempt to? It wouldn’t be wise to. I received empty looks whenever anyone inclined their head up. Singularity had become a redundancy over time and we were left with the remnants of a world that had forgotten what progress was.

Full Disclosure, Please
It's time for me to get something off my chest, even if it means stigma and ridicule from many people. I have always tried to be as skeptical as possible and endeavor to research everything thoroughly if I don't have first-hand experience with a certain topic. There are certain things in our society that have been consistently viewed as laughable or the stuff of fiction, and what I want to talk about is thankfully starting to shed some of these judgments.

The Wickedness of A.I.
Like with most things in life “There's no rose without a thorn”, in other words, there are going to be some negative points to this tale, and they don't exactly sound very reassuring, quite the contrary. Some of these have even been the target of works of fiction, TV series, games, podcasts, you name it, it has been done; movies like The Matrix, The Terminator, AI, 2001 space odyssey, and the movie adaptation of Marvel's Avengers (where the main villain is a being of "evil" artificial intelligence). Almost every apocalyptic scenario, every "machine turn on the humans that created them" scenario has been covered one way or another. These works of fiction can to some extent be seen as cautionary tales to what may come if ethics and caution are put aside.

Spontaneous, Terrifying, Destructive, and Deadly – Ten Worst Forest Fires In U.S. History
Wildfire generates intense winds and can leap firebreaks, streams, roads and other natural and man-made obstacles. A large fire frequently creates hurricane force winds of more than 120 miles per hour. The intense wind sucks the moisture from all the material in its path, preparing the now tinder dry combustibles to burn more readily.
