"Hello?" I called, looking into the darkness. There was no light or sound. "Is someone there?" I called out again. I had no memory of how I had gotten here or where I was. I went to take a step forward, hoping that maybe I could find a way out of here when the ground there disappeared. Splashing noises echoed around me as I caught myself from falling into the knee deep water.
I ran. I ran as fast as my legs would carry me; pushing myself past the point of extraordinary pain. Tears ran down my face as I gripped onto the only piece of reality that I had left. This wasn't real. This wasn't happening. This was all just a dream.
I stood there in the cold, damp waiting room. Everything was silent. There were six of us. No one knew anyone and no one said anything. We just stood, waiting in a line for something; anything to happen.
