On Saturday, March 13th, at around 5:21 AM EST, there will be a Full Moon at 23'03 degrees of the dreamy and romantic sign of Pisces. Here's what to expect!

What is a New Moon?

A New Moon represents the beginning of the lunar cycle when the moon is conjunct the sun and invisible to the human eye. New Moons are a good time for fresh starts and new beginnings. It is a good time to start a new project or make a radical change. It's also a good time to find clarity on what you want, and release what no longer serves you. The effects of a New Moon generally last for about two weeks, up until the next Full Moon.

With the New Moon in Pisces, we can expect new beginnings related to connection to the divine, dreams, imagination, emotion, and our sense of oneness with others.

It may be helpful to think back to what was going on in your life during the Full Moon in Virgo or the Full Moon in Pisces six months ago, for certain themes may be repeating themselves.

Whatever intentions you set now should come into fruition by the time of the Full Moon in Libra on March 27th.

Those with any personal planets or angles between 18 and 28 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) will be most especially affected by this New Moon.

New Moon in Pisces March 2021

March 2021's New Moon will take place at 23 degrees Pisces, a sign represented by a pair of two fishes swimming in opposite directions but joined by a cord. To me, this evokes an image of two souls inevitably joined together, going their separate ways only to cross paths again and again. No matter how many times they may swim off in different directions, they always seem to find their way back to one another. Pisces is Jupiter's nocturnal sign, and like Sagittarius, it represents the quest for meaning and truth. Pisces is often stereotyped as having one foot in this world and one foot off into the next, in search of something beyond the dreary, mundane, realities of the material world. But exalted by Venus, Pisces is very much about the search for love also, the quest for other human beings who we can connect with at the soul level. In fact, as I wrote in my article about February 2020's New Moon in Pisces, Greco-Roman mythology connects the fish to the goddess, Aphrodite.

The Sun and Moon will be joining Neptune at 20'43 degrees of this mutable water sign. Interestingly, Neptune is considered to be Pisces' modern ruler. Neptune is associated with cosmic consciousness, spiritual experiences, and all that is eternal and boundless. For some, the conjunction of Neptune with the New Moon might even bring a feeling of oneness with the universe. Others may simply be more sensitive than usual, perhaps more compassionate or empathetic to the feelings of others. But this sensitivity is not limited to mere emotions; those affected by this New Moon might be so sensitive that they pick up on energies unseen. Think: telepathy, premonitions - perhaps through dreams, weird coincidences that give you some sort of faith in something greater than yourself.

Venus, planet of love and beauty, will be at 19'50 degrees Pisces, conjunct both Neptune and the New Moon. With Venus conjunct the Sun and Moon, we can expect new beginnings and fresh starts related to love and romance. With Neptune involved, however, this is a romance that transcends normal conventions, a love that transcends time & space. This New Moon brings an unconditional love: the love of soulmates and those who are truly destined to be together. If you're already in a relationship, this is certainly a good time to schedule a date night with your partner, because with Venus in it's exalted sign, this is probably the most romantic New Moon of the year, perhaps even more romantic than the New Moon in Aquarius last month. For some people, this could bring about an unexpected but long waited-for reunion. For others affected, it could bring a fated meeting with someone new. For couples, it may simply help deepen the bond. Even for non-romantic situations, this New Moon could help foster a sort of telepathic connection, an understanding that goes beyond the mere human level.

Although this aspect is a bit wide, with Venus squarethe North and South Node at 14'28 degrees of Gemini and Sagittarius respectively, the meeting (or reunion) of soulmates is even more likely. But it could also bring closure, or healing to some sort of past life issue regarding beauty or love. Venus in aspect to the Nodes can indicate karma, lessons and growth in regards to relationships. It can also bring meetings that are fated or destined.

On another note, Mars at 5'25 degrees Gemini trine Saturn at 9'44 degrees Aquarius may help some people to accomplish their goals, by giving them strength, confidence, focus and perseverance. Since this aspect happens to occur in air signs, this could be manifestation or in other words, the art of turning our ideas into a reality. It might also be a social or humanitarian goal. This aspect can also help us to communicate about subject matters that are often difficult.

Conclusion

All in all, I would say this New Moon is about connection: both new connections and new beginnings for those connections that are already in existence. With Venus and Neptune conjunct the New Moon in Pisces, this isn't just a romantic connection but a spiritual one. This isn't just an emotional connection but an empathic, maybe even a telepathic one. This might not even be a connection between two individuals but a connection with the world, a connection with the whole entire universe, a connection with God, a connection with the all. Overall, the New Moon in Pisces is a very beautiful one and sends the message that those who are meant for each other will inevitably find their way back to each other again.

P.S. the title for this article is taken from the song "Twins," by the Velvet Swans, which you can listen to here or here.
