Ahsoka Tano Disney + TV Series Announced
Anakin's apprentice herself Ahsoka Tano will be starring in her own Disney+ series! On December 10th, the public was welcomed with Disney's investors to watch a litany of new announcements for Disney's streaming portfolio. Ahsoka will be played by Rosario Dawson, who brought the character to live-action in The Mandalorian. The December 10th Disney Investor Day call has been especially good for Star Wars fans, who now have more content in the works than we've had in a long time.

The Mandalorian has its finger on the pulse when it comes to the Star Wars fandom. Even avid collectors of the old Kenner toys can tell that the team behind the show did their homework when it comes to both the universe itself and the merchandise that has become so beloved. And one of the longest coveted Star Wars toys of all is the lightsaber. Even before owning any toy modeled after the lightsaber, many kids have picked up alternatives such as baseball bats or even sticks, swinging them around and pretending that they are Jedi partaking in lightsaber duels. The lightsaber itself has seen many permutations, whether it be the color of the blade, the design of the hilt, or the number of blades coming out of the hilt.

After creating one of the biggest film franchises in history, it was under a lot of assumption that George Lucas would want to retain full control over the Star Wars franchise after the release of the prequel trilogy. So when Lucas sold the franchise to Disney in 2012, there was some speculation about his thought process and reasoning.

Might as well, right? With over forty years of Star Wars media continually coming out, pretty much every character got their own backstory and explanation that would make Tolkien tell them to tone it back a bit. Everyone from the stormtrooper that Leia shot in the beginning of A New Hope to, and I couldn't make this up if I tried, the garbage monster that grabs Luke in the Death Star. Her name was Omi, and she grabbed Luke and dunked him to "baptize" him for some Force belief or whatever. Again, couldn't make this up if I tried, but somebody could, so here we are.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in Futurism'The Mandalorian' Might Have Just Changed Ahsoka Tano's Entire Timeline
Of all of the characters in the expanded Star Wars universe that are still canon, arguably none are as popular as Ahsoka Tano, the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. She became disillusioned with the Jedi after some false accusations against her among other cracks in their order that she saw, and left the Jedi before she could become a victim of Order 66. We still saw her in other media outside of The Clone Wars TV show, most notably in Star Wars Rebels. She wields twin white lightsabers, something that we had not seen before in canon. With fans of Star Wars eager to see more Ahsoka, it was little surprise that she showed up in the most popular piece of Star Wars media of our generation: The Mandalorian. Rumors abounded that she would be in the show, and fans were rewarded for their patience with her appearance in the show. They were not disappointed, as her first appearance showed her cutting through the soldiers of an evil governor of a nearby town.

The tale of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. It is probably one that you have heard time and time again already. I myself find moments of brilliance in the trilogy and can enjoy each installment to different extents, but I cannot deny that it is flawed and feels like it did not have a cohesive plan. Yes, I know, George Lucas did not plan every single thing either, but one would think that in this day and age, people would be able to "get it right" more easily.

Disney has been hard at work since launching Disney+ a year ago. They finally have a platform where they can release shows to go along with major blockbusters such as the Marvel and Star Wars film series. And they have wasted no time in getting those shows planned, filmed, and out on their streaming service. Even though COVID-19 has slowed production on many of their shows, with restrictions lifting some, they have been able to slowly get back on track with producing their highly anticipated series.

There have been many fan theories over the years concerning the death of our beloved elite bounty hunter Boba Fett. As we all diehard Star Wars are aware, Boba suffered as an unfortunate casualty during the rescue of Han Solo from the clutches of the notorious gangster known as Jabba the Hut. Additionally, in subsequent novels and the Dark Empire comic book series, it has been shown Boba himself had revealed to Han and Leia that he had indeed escaped from the Sarlacc pit Han himself had knocked him into. Debates on whether or not such appearances are cannon have raged on, although George Lucas himself had given his blessing for these publications. This is because Boba has not appeared “in-the-flesh” in any of the Star Wars movies since his apparent demise. That is until now.

There are many gaps between the Star Wars movies. Under Lucasfilm, they would often be filled by a show or novels in the Legends timeline, and the trend has continued in the Disney era. For example, there have been comics that show the adventures of our beloved characters on both sides between the films. In Star Wars Adventures #2, the story turns to Kylo Ren, giving us some insight into how he evolved beyond the films. This one showed us a rather dark side of the new Supreme Leader; that he went on a rampage, setting at least one whole planet ablaze in the process.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in Futurism'The Mandalorian' Has Finally Done The One Thing 'Star Wars' Has Been Teasing Since The Beginning Of 'A New Hope'
Star Wars has long been a melting pot showcasing different influences that came from stories of various genres. The fan favorite animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, for example, had detective stories and even a somewhat left field Kaiju story. Even going back to the very first film in 1977, it is evident that there are western and samurai influences. This Inverse article has pointed out the similarities between the genres, particularly between the lone samurai and the lone cowboy archetypes. The article also goes into how last week's episode of The Mandalorian, titled "Chapter 13: The Jedi," has come full circle with the influences that have been teased, so to speak, since A New Hope.
