Climate Change - Is There a Divine Plan?

…and if there is, are we following our 'destined path'?

"Your life isn't an accident. You have a destiny, one that only you can complete" -  Rick Warren

The more of life that I see, the more I realise that some of our experiences are not merely 'random events'.

At the time of a tragedy we can scarcely believe it's true, and torment ourselves with the questions 'Why…Why Me…Why Now?' We often ask ourselves 'what have I done to deserve this?'

The answer is probably 'nothing. You have done nothing, but you were chosen for this mission for humanity's evolution'.

Often parents who have a lost a child in heart-breaking circumstances will raise awareness of the condition their child suffered from. They will raise funds to find a cure, or to fund more effective treatments.

Some parents write beautiful stories for us to 'know' their child.

And, some thoughtless individuals will say something along the lines of "it was their destiny", leaving the family even more bereft than ever.

But, imagine if you will, just for one moment, that this soul, in a previous life, was born between 1870 and 1900. Became a soldier and is killed in the First World War (1914–1918). Also known as 'The Great War' - and the World says 'This Must Never Happen Again'.

This same soul returns to earth to be born between 1918–1926. Again they became a soldier and is killed in the Second World War - and the World says 'This Must Never Happen Again'.

The soul then returns to earth and is born after the Millenium.

This child then becomes ill with Cancer, and dies. What meaning, if any, can we gain from this?

Perhaps this soul is the 'Universal Soldier' who is reborn to sacrifice their own life in order to awaken humanity to our destructive ways.

If we cannot mend our ways voluntarily, then perhaps the Divine Plan is forced upon us, so that we should be hurt to learn how foolish we are. What more effective way to hurt a person, a family, a community, the world, than for an illness to take a child? Or to create wildfires and desecrate huge swathes of land? Or to unlease devastating floods?

And these souls, who come to guide us by their sacrifice, each one is not a wasted life, but a life of meaning and hope for the future.

You may, or may not believe in reincarnation, I am not here to persuade you either way. I just believe that everything is for a reason, but we don't always see it, or understand why.

The Universal Soldier

Donovan released a folk song in 1965s called the Universal Soldier the lyrics as follows:

"Universal Soldier"

He's five foot-two, and he's six feet-four,

He fights with missiles and with spears.

He's all of thirty-one, and he's only seventeen,

He's been a soldier for a thousand years.

He's a Catholic, a Hindu, an atheist, a Jain,

A Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew.

And he knows he shouldn't kill,

And he knows he always will,

Kill you for me my friend and me for you.

And he's fighting for Canada,

He's fighting for France,

He's fighting for the USA,

And he's fighting for the Russians,

And he's fighting for Japan,

And he thinks we'll put an end to war this way.

And he's fighting for Democracy,

He's fighting for the Reds,

He says it's for the peace of all.

He's the one who must decide,

Who's to live and who's to die,

And he never sees the writing on the wall.

But without him,

How would Hitler have condemned them at Liebau?

Without him Caesar would have stood alone,

He's the one who gives his body

As a weapon of the war,

And without him all this killing can't go on.

He's the Universal Soldier and he really is to blame,

His orders come from far away no more,

They come from here and there and you and me,

And brothers can't you see,

This is not the way we put the end to war?

The Climate Crisis

Although not a war in the Traditional sense of the word, but Annihilation all the same.

Annihilation and Destruction - Perhaps this is the 'War to End all Wars', and we will all struggle to survive.
