WWE’s Night of Champions delves out and connects with another hard-hitting & action-packed premium live event as the company continues its string of putting on strong pay per views for this year.

They kicked it off with the Royal Rumble, then Wrestlemania 39 and followed it up with Backlash which was just as enjoyable. Every match on that card was stellar.

The only thing holding the WWE back these days is that they can’t put on a good Monday Night Raw to save their lives.

As much as they’re Raws are subpar, they still know how to put on a darn good ppv.

And today was no different as the Night of Champions was more then exceptional. The only bad “match” on the card was the Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya which just a glorified squash match.

Oops! I mean an enhancement match. WWE doesn’t use the term squash anymore.

Match #1: AJ Styles vs. Seth Rollins to be become the newly crowned WWE Heavyweight Champion

The opening match on the card saw Seth Rollins defeat AJ Styles for the new WWE Heavyweight title.

A terrific match that could’ve went either way with Rollins coming out on top and getting the victory with the Curb Stomp.

Paul “HHH” Levesque (WWE’s Chief Content Creator) entered the ring to congratulate Rollins and to place the new championship around his waist.

Match #2: Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch

Both these ladies delivered a nice showing which saw Stratus getting the win with the help of Zoey Starks after she hit her ultra-confusing finisher on Lynch when she was outside and while Stratus had the referee distracted.

There were a few botches in the match which is commonplace with some of the ladies on the roster but other than, everything was good.

Match #3: Gunther Vs. Mustafa Ali for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Now obviously, everybody knew that Gunther was going to win the match but I thought these two did a wonderful job of bringing some intrigue into this match.

It wasn’t the prototypical squash match that many were expecting. It even felt at times that Ali had an opportunity to win the match.

Gunther gets the pinfall with the powerbomb.

Match #4: Asuka vs Bianca Belair for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship

Another great bout with Asuka getting the win.

The way this match was designed was flawless and it was also time for Belair to lose.

It seems like she had been losing some steam with the audience for the past several monts.

You started to hear a little less cheers and a little more boos.

Sometimes, the WWE builds up these stars in a way that makes it unattainable for anybody else to compete with them. They often forget that at some point, they’re going to need challengers.

Match #5: Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship

Like I said earlier, it was a squash match. Nothing more, nothing less. Ripley gets the win.

Match #6: Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes

This match was fantastic and told a great story. I would go as far as to say that this match might’ve been the best on the card.

Rhodes was a heavy underdog going into this one where he was “dealing with a broken arm” against his larger opponent, “the Beast Incarnate.”

This match went back and forth and it looked like Cody was going to pull out a win again.

Unfortunately, Lesnar was too much for him tonight as he got the win by referee stoppage when he had Rhodes “injured arm” in the Kimura lock causing him to pass out from all the pain.

Match #7: Solo Sikoa & Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships

The main event saw the tag team champions (Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn) retain their titles against the Bloodline (Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa).

The match was pretty great but what occurred towards the end of this match put this match into a another stratosphere.

Towards the very end of the match the Usos made their presence known even though they were told to stay home by “the Tribal Chief,” as they came out from the audience and began beating down on Kevin Owens.

They saved Reigns’ skin but and “the Tribal Chief” didnt seem very happy at all.

The Usos then went after Zayn next delivering a series of superkicks to one half of the tag team champs.

They set him up for another superkick when Zayn moves out the way and they ending up striking their real life brother, Solo Sikoa, right in the face with stereo superkicks.

Reigns gets into the ring and begins berating and shoving around both Usos until Jimmy has enough and superkicks Reigns right in the face knocking to the mat.

Jey is in disbelief and pleads with his brother but Jimmy doesn’t want to hear it as he delivers another superkick to Reigns knocking him out the ring.

Jimmy tells his brother that we have to go and gets him out of the ring to Jey’s dismay.

Sikoa is back in the ring and walks into a Stunner from KO and then the Helluva kick from Zayn who gets the pinfall.

An excellent match with an more intriguing story going forward. We all know that the Bloodline’s time is coming to end. The only question is when.
