A little town in the north hibernates for about nine months of the year and very little happens in town.

Until tourist season hits and there are people everywhere. They buy up the local produce, visit the gorgeous countryside and fill the local pub to the brim with laughter and song.

But they also go missing!

Every tourist season, a young female meets her demise every week, and the local authorities are baffled as to who is committing these awful crimes.

The bodies pile up but no clues are left behind.

The town soon becomes known for its wicked ways.

I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘season'.

Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :

A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
