“David, what are you doing? Why are you playing these games. You have lost. Come here and let me kill you now,” Michael called from inside of Michelle’s body.

David’s remained where he stood with his feet unable to move from the spot. Michael grew both concerned and annoyed. He moved slowly closer towards him.

As he drew closer, David suddenly lifted up his head with his eyes still closed. His body moved as though he were a doll on a string.

“This isn’t funny David,” Michael called out his agitation grew at what appeared to be David's indifference.

“Isn’t it?” the voice that came from David was not his own.

“No! It can’t be,” Michael cried out as he stepped back away from David's body.

“Oh, but it is,” the voice said through David’s body.

“Becky. Baby. You don’t understand,” Michael found himself pleading with the body of David as the reality crashed down on him that David was no longer himself. He was staring at the woman he used to love. He was staring at Rebecca.

“I don’t understand what, lover? I don’t understand that after you murdered me you came after my daughter. You bedded her. You murdered her, and now you are trying to take my last remaining heir?” Rebecca said with eyes glowing red. The shadows on the wall began to dance as the shadowmen surrounded them both.

A hole in the ground formed and out of the hole black hands with red veins pulled at the ground as they began to slither out from the pit that was forming in the middle of the living room.

“Wait, no. If you take me you take her too,” he cried as he started to back away even further. His eyes were wide with terror as he searched the room looking for something to hold onto.

“I will take all of us, lover,” she said with no hesitation.

Michael stood shocked as he tried to figure out how to save himself.

“She can’t go to hell,” he stammered still inching back further away from the gaping hole and from Rebecca.

“Hahahah,” Rebecca laughed. “Of course she can. She stood up from the ground and walked towards Michael. He continued to step backwards until he was pressed against the wall. Rebecca stopped in front of the desk and grabbed the letter opener.

“What are you doing Becky?” He asked while pressed against the wall.

“Are you afraid lover?” she said to him as she drew closer towards him holding the letter opener like a knife.

“Are you going to kill me? Kill me while I am in her body?” he asked as he looked around the room to witness the shadow men moving closer and closer. The pit was growing in size and the heat from the pit was filling the room. The soot and ash had begun to cover the ground and fill the air around them both. The stench of death filled their nostrils.

“What do you think?” She asked as she moved closer towards him. “Let me speak with my daughter,” she demanded and Michael in his state of fear released Michelle from his mental grasp.

Michelle for the first time, had been granted awareness of what happened so she knew who it was that was in front of her. It wasn’t her David. It was her deceased mother. This thought terrified her and sadenned her at the same time. “Are you my mother?” she asked.

“If I said yes, would you believe me?” the voice of her mother asked through the face of her husband. A single tear slid down her cheek as Michelle became overwhelmed with sorrow.

“I don’t know,” She answered honestly.

Becky looked at her daughter fondly. “I have always loved you. You are my precious daughter.”

“What about Vicky? What about Victoria? You left her to be haunted, tormented, and murdered by your boyfriend,” Michelle screamed at her mother before she was even aware of the fact that she was doing it. The ash in the air singed her throat and she began coughing uncontrollably.

Becky smiled a simple smile as she patted her daughter's back to ease her suffering. “She deserved what happened to her. Not you though. Never you, here…” she handed Michelle the letter opener and she grasped it. Without hesitation she lunged it into her mothers throat.

The smile on Becky’s face grew wide, “See Michael honey. She is my daughter,” those were the last words she uttered before she released David’s body. His body fell to the ground. His blood pooled around him. A light shone into the darkened space as David’s spirit was freed from its corporal form. He looked down at his body at turned his gaze to Michelle who could see him clearly.

“David, no, David!” she screamed as the realization of what she had done settled in.

He looked at her and could see Michael holding onto Michelle's body's from behind. He had his arms wrapped around her torso. David’s eyes grew downcast. He witnessed the pit growing larger and surrounding them. His light was the only thing shining in the darkness. “David, your light,” she said as she noticed that he was still there even though his light was fading.

“I love you, I’m so sorry,” she said as she started to cry. The tears came fast and hard and turned into deep gutteral sobs.

“I can’t leave you,” he muttered as he tried to decide if he should forsake his light and live in darkness with her.

“And I can’t let you stay,” she said as she turned to Michael. “Please, help him get into the light,”

He looked at her confused. “Why would I do that?” He asked.

“I’ll come with you willingly,” she replied.

“No! I won’t go!” David screamed out as Michael lunged towards his and pushed him into his light.

“Get out of here douche before I change my mind,” Michael said as he used all of his strength to force David into his light.

“Look at that,” Becky said as she grabbed onto David’s leg and began to pull him out of his light. “We can’t have you escaping now can we?” she asked with an evil laugh.

“No!!!!” Michelle screamed so loudly the earth shook and the demons came pouring out of the ground. They had begun to surround Rebecca.

“Stop it. Not me. Him, no, let go,” she cried as she started to struggle against the demons. She let go of David’s leg and he continued to float upward until he was out of sight. The light faded and the room was once more cast into darkness.
