Though Jo usually wore a short, dark-colored skirt, today she wore a long yellow robe with a green sash. Her hair, which she usually wore down, was folded in several curls and ringlets on top of her head. She even wore makeup. "What are you doing?" Miriam asked.

Chapter 7 Despite Greenway’s interruption of my day, I made good time getting home, and had several hours left before Morgan would be over. I was able to simmer down on the drive home, and even realized I had probably over-reacted to Greenway's questioning. By the time I got home, I felt much better, and eager to get everything ready for tonight. I shed the pink running outfit and pulled on a cream-colored camisole and some black silk boxers. I wanted to be comfortable as I cooked, but still feel sexy – I hoped it would transfer over to when Morgan arrived. I brought my CD player out to the kitchen along with a Radiohead CD and turned to volume up. I started dancing immediately, letting my previous frustrations with Greenway melt away with the music. And, since I was alone, I even sang at the top of my lungs, stretching my voice to match Thom Yorke’s thin falsetto.

Chapter 6 I woke up on Sunday morning feeling like my head was stuffed with cotton balls. I made myself take a good long shower, and I found myself scrubbing my skin more vigorously than normal. I turned on some music while I air-dried, ‘Beethoven for Breakfast’, and meditated, trying to clear my mind and focus. I had to call the hospital to check up on Mike; I also remembered he had a son that lived in southern California who may need to be notified if the police hadn’t already done so. I should also send some flowers to Joey’s wife, but that would need to wait until Monday at least. And then I needed to make a run to the store to pick up something to make for dinner tonight – whatever else had happened I wanted to see Morgan again, and cooking would be cathartic for me. Meanwhile, I decided to shut everything out for a while, and just lay and listen to the music.

I was in my room on my computer looking up some stuff for school and I saw a commercial for a new video game that I wanted. I decided that I would buy it with my allowance money that I saved up. I went to my brother's room and asked to borrow his money since he always has some. He said no and I asked why. He told me that he needed it for something important. I was about to leave when he said that he would give me the money if I did him a favor. I asked what it was and he told me that he needed me to watch our little sister while he and our mom went out to run some errands. I said that I would do it and he gave me the money.

One day Skippy woke up to her mom calling her down for breakfast, Skippy didn’t think much of it because that’s what happens every morning so she got up ,brushed her teeth and picked out a outfit for school, she ran downstairs to see her siblings Cottontail and Snowball running down to the smell of freshly made pancakes. She sat herself down and poured maple syrup onto her pancakes, as the syrup slowly dripped onto her pancake she imagined a pancake world where the trees were maple syrup and everything smelled of fresh maple, Skippy could daydream for hours and hours, *honk* “Skippy are you coming?” Skippy’s mom said “Oh um coming!!!” Skippy said, Skippy had a frown on her face “ I didn’t even get to take a bite of my pancakes” she told herself , Skippy got into the car with her stomach gurgling.
