Short Story
Blackberries
Blackberries For forty years, the brambles at the edge of Blackwood Farm served as a natural barrier. They were dense, razor-sharp, and yielded the sweetest, deepest purple fruit in the valley. Local bakers paid premium prices for Silasβs harvest. But this August, the crop was too heavy. The branches sagged under the weight of clusters so dark they were almost black.

INHERITANCE
ATLANTA, GA She drove into the fresh morning dawn, humming something low and light drifting from SiriusXM smooth jazz. The sky over the pines was a pale blue portrait brushed with long wisps of raw cotton, stretched across a blue canvas like an artist had left faint trails behind. Honeysuckle drifted through the air β sweet enough to make her slow down and breathe it in.

The Rain and the Rainbow

The lawn outside was clogged with water. Only the top edges of the grass blades managed to stay above the rising water.
