Hiding from the Moon's Lake
I am only afraid of the dark because of you. You always change your size and the way you look. Even your smile is a sham. The stars are faraway suns. I want the Sun. I do not want you. The Sun is warm and very hot. You are always cold and full of holes. You are like perpetual acne. I refuse to look at you. At least I can easily avoid you when the Sun is shining. But I know that you are still there, waiting like a COVID patient, like death incarnate.

Bar at the End of the World
We get all different types coming through here. It’s one of the only places for miles where someone won’t shoot you on sight for touching their land. There’s always a fine layer of dust settled on the bar and chairs no matter how many times I clean it. Some of the windows have broken panes only covered by a bit of cloth. Before it would have been the kind of place that people avoided, but standards have gotten pretty low in the last decade.

Live Reading: Chapter 8
So ya, I did a live reading from my book The Ridiculous Adventures of Serbinand! This was part of a Facdebook Live show that I was invited onto to share a bit about me, my book, the motivation behind it and… to do a little reading from the story!

Reducible Ever After
Capture Technology, or “consciousness capturing,” was realized just in time. The planet having been in a constant state of crisis, with storms reaching epidemics of both frequency and proportion, with wildfires on the verge of consuming entire states, with widespread hunger and overpopulation pairing with constant mutations of CORONA and the more recent ‘superbug,’ AXE-9, few saw the coup de grace coming out of the ingenuities incited by the energy crisis. Ironically, the death knell comes from losing control of what was meant to be the cleanest, most promising advancement in energy production ever, the long sought fusion reactor. Facing any loss of control, it was supposed to safely shut itself down.

The End....Chapter 5
Ray and Scooter were not the only people in the Clover Valley sub-division who were freaking out the night of the Arrival. However unlike Scooter Jenkings, no one else in the sub-division or the county for that matter had a stocked super bunker to hide in. The one hundred and fifty or so people in the neighborhood who had been able to survive original Alien onslaught, were now either running for their lives or hiding and praying.

We Don’t Know
“Why aren’t there any real women in space? That's what I want to know!” Berry practically shouted. I looked around the room and saw some of the security women shake their heads. They weren’t exactly the women we knew about on Earth. They were from distant planets. They weren’t exactly like the women on Earth, but they were female, I guess. It wasn’t any of my business, to be truthful, and I hadn’t looked down the front of their pants.

The End.... Chapter 4
Scooter, Ray, and Jerry stood in the dark house just on the other side of the front door, each bent over and panting as if they had just ran a marathon. They were all grateful to be alive, and Ray was even more grateful that the lights were still out, so Scooter and Jerry couldn't see that he had pissed himself. They could still hear the horn blaring out side, but it wasn't as loud in the house thankfully.

The Lioness Head on a Silver Platter
The error of a girl who ate too much, the qualifications that could never be too little, the treasured concepts that have to stay hushed. Why? It can never be too much when getting it late, a blessing in time is a bit of a long wait. As she continued to beat the plate— knife and fork, she took a huff. The Lioness head makes her feel out of touch, though it's the freedom that gave her back her instinctive lush, the trait to her artist brush to retouch. Can somebody feed me? Excuse-moi— please! I'm in need of opportunities that have surpassed me in this broken vessel of a livelihood, the deterioration, the reopening wounds of my excavation. The filthy hands scavenging my flesh that will nourish this earth, before and after I hit the dirt. Rummaging for my jewels, forgetting they don't have the proprietary tools, from their engagements marked up as a map by every sight they found under their schools— fools. I'm down on my knees, and it bleeds! Gripping the gravels of the ground from these unfinished roads, the last completions halting the competition. I'm here for my submission for my inherit transition.
