Starting Over
As the overcast sky looms over the sparse landscape, a feeling of peace invades, followed by a sense of suffocation and dread. Uncertainty floods my mindscape, drowning me in the realization of the cessation of another life. I pause. Standing here at the confluence of the past and future, in this junction, we call the present.

The Pain of Hope
I can't describe how I feel. Pain, numbness, floating, sinking, afraid, dead, all at the same time. But I'll be okay. I just need time to pick myself up. I can't stop believing that. I feel like my soul is screaming as part of it is being ripped away. But there's hope. A new love, a tiny ember, ready to become a flame. Will it warm this cold deep inside me? Or will I just burn as my ashes fall to the ground? Will it be extinguished as my soul fades? Or will it reignite my soul as my inner Phenix soars once more? As I find the one who holds the future of my life, my love, my sanity, and my very existence as she holds my hand. I pray never to let go because that would spell the end! And in the absence of my heart, the end is just too easy to spell!

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
When Emily opened her eyes, she felt confused. She didn't know where she was or what was going on. There was a heavy feeling in her chest, arms, and legs. She couldn't move! When she tried to lift her head, she realized that she was strapped down. She tried to yell for help, but the more she tried to raise her voice, the lower it got. That's when she realized that she was in some kind of hospital. She was strapped to a cold metal table, and wires were attached to her head.

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
Friday evening, Danny was working on a door. It was a solid door made from the finest English oak. He hung the door on heavy brass hinges and installed a large brass doorknob. Underneath the knob was an old-fashioned lock plate with a large keyhole. And, primarily for decoration, there was a brass knocker. It was like the kind with a Lion’s head, but instead of a lion, it was Hibbit’s head, horns and all. He had a large brass ring in his mouth, with a ball resting on the brass knocking plate. When Danny was finished polishing it, an inscription appeared at the bottom. It said, "Thank you, my Lord."

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
Ever since their first date, Danny and Emily decided to have a date every Friday. It wasn't always a show and dinner. Sometimes it was a romantic walk through the park. Sometimes a carriage ride. Sometimes they would stay home and have a special dinner on his patio. But they always ended the same way, with Danny and Emily cuddling on the couch talking.

The Story of Promiseum - Dream walker
When Danny fell asleep, he immediately went into Emily's dream. They were at the park. Emily was standing by the fountain when Danny approached her. She was watching the water flow out of the fish's mouth in the center. Emily could tell that Danny was there. Her dreams seemed more vivid and alive when he was. Even in real life, everything seemed better with him there.

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
When Danny came to, he was strapped to a table. Danny lifted his head and looked around, realizing that he wasn't in the same room. He was now in the central lab. It didn't seem like much of a lab, though. For all the security and secrecy, you would think there would be more equipment. Or at least lab techs running around. As far as Danny could tell, there was only one person in this lab (besides himself).

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
"When I was younger and very ambitious," he started. "I had a fascinating dream. Mostly everything was dark, but there was a voice. My voice! He was telling me things to study. Physics, electronics, engineering, even books on dream theory. It took me four years to master those, plus other fields to put me ahead of the game. Like I said, I was very ambitious. After that, he started describing diagrams and blueprints a piece at a time. I had to memorize them and draw them out. I added improvements, of course. While I built that machine, I was building another, more powerful machine. When the first machine was finished, I built the first dream chamber with improvements from the blueprints.

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
I think it's time to look for that missing Essential, Danny thought. He opened a dream door and went through. There were so many dreams floating around. He could feel a pull to each one, but there was a specific dream that he was trying to find. There it was! Danny entered the patio dream to look around. He walked out by the rail and looked up and down the street. He checked the trees and all of the fences. They weren't here! He concentrated for a second, then shifted to another dream. This time he went back into the meadow dream. He walked through the meadow down to the wooded area, then he walked down the path a little way. There they were, playing by the stream.

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
"It all started with a man," he began. Arrogant SOB. He thought he could control powers he didn't fully understand. Anyway," He continued. "He discovered that the universe was split into three separate energy fields. Two being filled with physical matter, with the third separating them like a barrier."
