Ray and Scooter were not the only people in the Clover Valley sub-division who were freaking out the night of the Arrival. However unlike Scooter Jenkings, no one else in the sub-division or the county for that matter had a stocked super bunker to hide in. The one hundred and fifty or so people in the neighborhood who had been able to survive original Alien onslaught, were now either running for their lives or hiding and praying.

Jimmy and Jesse Benson had watched the horror of their mothers death and also their fathers evaporation through their living room window. Jimmy had tried to run out to help his mother, but Jesse had managed to stop him. "You want to get fucking eaten too....It's too late Jimmy, she is gone and so is dad, It's just us now, we have to hide." Jesse yelled at his brother, who was now crying helplessly.

Jesse locked the front door and nudged his brother: "Come on, we should go up to the attic, those things wont able to get to us up there." He said, not really believing his own words.

The boys could barley see one another in the dark house, their only source of light was from the outside green haze that floated in though the windows. That was okay though, they did not need a lot of light, they had lived in the house their whole life and knew it well. They made their way to the upstairs hallway, where it was pitch black. Jesse walked down the middle of the hall holding his hand up in the air until his fingers touched the draw string that opened the attic door. He gave it a hard tug and the door swung down, they unfolded the ladder and climbed up into the attic. The heat hit them hard first thing. It was late August and it had to be at least one hundred degrees in the attic.

Jesse bent down and folded the ladder back onto the attic door and then pulled it shut. He then reached down and pulled the draw string up into the attic and tied it to the door so it would no longer be hanging down. " Stay on the plywood, the last thing we need is for one of us to fall through the ceiling." He said, sweat now pouring down his face.

The boys could feel a light breeze coming in through the open air vent at the front of the house, slowly they made there way over to it, careful not to step off the plywood. They both fell down to their knees and stuck their faces up close to the vent, letting what little wind that was there wash over them. Through the vent slats they could clearly see the street below and everything that was happening. There were now eight of those small spaceships sitting every thirty or forty feet apart all the way up the street. There were at least ten of those centipede creatures scurrying about, and they were no longer alone. There were also fifteen or twenty large preying mantis looking creatures patrolling the street. They were huge, at least eight feet tall, and they walked upright on two legs. The mantis things were thick and muscular with dark green skin. They wore yellow body armor, carried large laser looking guns and they seemed to be in charge.

Jimmy had stopped crying, but was unable stop the wave of different emotions that were now tugging at him all at once. At one moment he was scared, the next angry, then he was just confused. He knew what was happening, but his mind could not seem to grasp what was going on as reality, it had to be a bad dream, but deep down he knew it wasn't. Suddenly he saw a different creature come running across their yard. It looked like a big gray ant and it was much smaller than the other two alien insect monsters. The ant thing stood upright too and walked on four legs that protruded out from its mid section, it was no more than four feet tall and had two very human looking arms and hands. Suddenly there were three more of the ant creatures milling around their yard and now they seemed to be headed towards the front door.

Just then their neighbor, Mr. Kelly came running out of his house with an assault rifle and began firing at the ant aliens. He hit one in the head and it popped like a big grey balloon, bluish liquid spewed up into the night air. Another ant was hit in the chest area, and a large hole appeared in its back, it fell down in the grass and lay there motionless. Suddenly two more ants ran up behind Mr. Kelly, one sunk it's mandibles into his leg right behind the knee, the other ant jumped onto Mr. Kelly's back as he was falling to the ground, it took a big chuck of meat out of the back of his neck and then sat there on top of the man eating it.

Three houses up on the left side of the street, one the centipede creatures burst out of the Thomson's crawl space, dragging Stacy Thompson by her leg behind it. Stacy was the same age as the boys, her and Jesse had even dated briefly. She was screaming at the top of her lungs, desperately trying to escape the centipedes grasp. One of the preying mantis aliens quickly ran over and shot her in the face with one of those green projectiles and she was instantly evaporated.

A little further up, directly across the street from Scooters house, the entire Leary family was forced from their home by another one of those preying mantis aliens. Mr. and Mrs. Leary and their four children did try to resist in anyway, they were hurriedly marched to one of the spaceships where they all disappeared inside.
