Microfiction
I Wear A Size Ten...
The following microfiction piece that I wrote entitled, "I Wear A Size Ten" was inspired by popular visual artist Annie Lee's vibrant 1990 painting below called 8 1/2 Narrow . I enjoy the painting immensely because it keeps it real and is so stylistically fun and relatable. The painting depicts a beautifully dressed African-American woman who has removed her heels to relieve her aching feet. Most high-heeled shoe wearers have done this at some point along their high-heeled shoe wearing journey. I remember doing so during homecoming in high school. My night magically became better once I ditched my heels. Lol π

Telepathy and The Empire of Knowledge
I looked upward toward the stars. Using what I would name capability, I listened for those above the canopy of our beautiful sky. In the vision I am describing, there were transmissions and communications, one passing through another. And beyond them, an empire.

Note: the prompt for this Challenge was the following lyric from The Doors: Women seem wicked when you're unwanted I have heard this particular line many times, and I still think it is one of their best songs ( 'People Are Strange' ). And I think a drabble is in order.

INHERITANCE
ATLANTA, GA She drove into the fresh morning dawn, humming something low and light drifting from SiriusXM smooth jazz. The sky over the pines was a pale blue portrait brushed with long wisps of raw cotton, stretched across a blue canvas like an artist had left faint trails behind. Honeysuckle drifted through the air β sweet enough to make her slow down and breathe it in.

The Rain and the Rainbow
The rain came down in sheets one early Sunday morning. It poured with a voracity I had never seen before in my life. I heard it pattering the roof, flood through the gutters and gurgle down pipes. The lawn outside was clogged with water. Only the top edges of the grass blades managed to stay above the rising water.
