A Nightcafe Creation By The Author

They needed a shelf put up in the hallway, so they called a handyman, well, they called several, but none seemed to want the job for some reason. Eventually, they found one who said he could take care of them.

They thought that was an odd statement to make, but decided they wanted the shelf put up.

The workmen turned up dressed in weathered red leather and masks, with pneumatic drills and nothing much else. They were confused.

Then the workmen forced them into their upstairs bedroom and locked the door. They were worried and shouted to be let out.

The drilling started and did not stop.

They went to the window to try to get out, but something was stopping them from even opening the window.

Suddenly the floor lurched; the workmen must have destroyed the supporting walls, and then they were falling, but not just to the ground; they kept falling, and they realised it was getting hotter.

What was happening?

Then they hit the bottom and were in a place surrounded by flames.

Then a figure walked out of the flames and said

"Welcome to Hell. You should have used someone from Check-a-trade, but now we have your souls, because you were too lazy to put that shelf up yourselves"
