Unappreciated
Today is the big day, is it? After all these years together, I’m going to be happily tossed out with the trash without as much as a farewell, or I appreciate all that you have done for me. Have you forgotten that I was with you from the very beginning? Without my help, many of your major accomplishments would never have happened. Let’s look back at what you and I have done together.

When Hell Freezes Over
Snow changes the landscape; out of sight, out of mind and all that. Its almost easy to forget that the hungry dead are just a few feet below all this white powder. But that's a problem for another day. Today we deserve a break. Today the spiked wooden doors have been thrown open to the white wasteland and the children are skidding down the hills in their padded jackets on scrap metal.

Days of Future Past
For this Story-a-Day, January 22, 2024, I wrote it (will write?) on January 23, which on January 22, is (was?) the future. I had hit writer's block. I was empty. And I was frantic. I had been doing so well. But a story a day is a bit of a challenge (hence, it being a challenge). So, here I am, on the 23 day of the challenge, writing for the 22nd. As if I really did. Who can I fool with this slight-of-hand cardshuffling anyway? Here goes... and remember, it's today, not yesterday, written tomorrow as if it were now, back then. Whoo, I'm a bit dizzy.

Cloud Services
Hello. Please let me introduce myself. You might not know who I am. My name is Caspian Nimbus. I'm the newly elected CEO of Cloud Services. I’ve been with the company for 15 years. For the majority of that time, I was in a small cubical in the Accumulation Department. My many suggestions must have got me noticed by the big boss. Old Thunderhead himself.

Battling Guilt Part 7: More of Petra &Ivan's Origin Romance
Petra wasn't completely unappealing herself, although her own looks weren't a particular concern of hers. Still, looking at her wasn't a pain at all. She was 5'1 with a thick and muscular yet petite frame, her eyes a deep brown and dark brown hair that flowed right below her shoulders, highlighting her olive tone skin that nearly boasted of no blemishes, except for an occasional zit at her jaw line or forehead temples. And her cute little heart shaped face made it hard to take her serious when she was upset. So it was no wonder that Ivan seemed to be enraptured by her beauty.

Fluffy Protection
As she drove slowly through the snowfall, Willow realized that she didn’t like snow anymore. When she was a kid, she thought she would never get tired of the pretty white flakes but now, when she was an adult and had to go to work regardless, Willow didn’t like it. It made the roads slippery and since Willow wasn’t the most confident driver, that alone made her more anxious. And she didn’t even have the benefit of playing in it.
