Those Who Wish To Remain
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin—a bundle of nerves and a ball of restless energy. It was all somehow familiar, as if I drove up this same road not long ago. Then, there was the thing in my pocket. I had read somewhere before that high stress and anxiety can increase the likelihood of experiencing episodes of Deja vu.
Glare
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. Janet and I had been waiting months for this little reprieve away from our everyday lives, and were both very excited to finally be there.

We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. The car heater had broken halfway up the mountain, and the cold mixed with the silence made my skin crawl. My toes throbbed in my shoes, and I could see the goosebumps raising the skin on my thighs below the hem of my navy skirt. I was freezing but to say so seemed petty considering Aaron sat involuntarily shirtless and shoeless in the driver’s seat, his shivering body betraying his stoic expression.

We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. It looked like something straight out of a Hallmark movie. I snorted at the sight. "Not what I was expecting for a safe house."
The Missing Poster
The missing poster flapped with the gentle breeze from a late September day. The edges of the poster were worn and stained from the summer sun and heavy rains, but his eyes remained unchanged. His green iris seemed to jump off the paper like laser beams at a light show. His sandy brown hair hung long past his shoulders, a person passing by unable to tell its true length in the 2D world my brother was trapped in.

We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin, excitement slowly building in my chest. I looked to my right at my new girlfriend Suzanna, Suzi for short, man she was gorgeous with long red hair, and bright green eyes with a perfect dusting of freckles across her face. She had a body to kill for, the buttons of her blouse straining to hold her shirt closed, and her leggings leaving almost nothing to the imagination. She was quite the opposite of Rebecca who was sitting in the passenger seat. Rebecca was very plain; hell, a flagpole had more curves than her. She had mousey brown hair with dull brown eyes, her clothes refused to flatter her body and she always seemed a little lost. That would leave Alice who was the driver of this trip. She had raven black hair with icy blue eyes and a face that seemed allergic to smiling. She was quite beautiful to look at, but to be honest she kind of scared me. I hope she won’t be a problem this weekend.

We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. The last month had been the hardest of her life and now it was just her and the puppy, the puppy that she had got for her son before, that dreadful day. One tragic night had changed her life so dramatically that she hadn’t had time to come to terms with it. A month ago, she and her loving, darling husband had gone on a trip with their son, her son, it was such a lovely trip the first they had taken together, and it started like the kind of family trip that they would talk about for years to come. All good things come to an end though and if she had known how devastating it would turn, she would have insisted they stay in the safety of their home, in one night she had lost everything. She hated thinking about the night, but the nightmares insisted the memories stay at the for front of her mind.

The Haunts of Von Rahnschteen
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. And from the seat behind, I heard the voice of good ol’ Sprite asking why there wasn’t such a thing as a V-frame cabin.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. It was pretty dark already. Riley had wanted to wait until all the trick-or-treaters were done before leaving for the weekend getaway. She had told me in that no-nonsense tone, 'Tina - We loved Halloween as kids, and there is no way we are leaving before every last candy has gone.'
