The Severed Knot
Those who knew a thing or two about the English Civil War acknowledged that the Battle of Blundell's Edge was a turning point for the Parliamentarians. What was not suspected was that the previous night of Royalist debauchery at nearby Higley Court was a contributing factor. Higley Court had burned down immediately afterwards so the world didn’t know the truth. Only Gerald Higgs did. Or thought he did …but had made it his life's work to find out.

Ame's Choice
Ame held her father’s hand tightly as she dropped from a large stone, landing with both feet in the mud below. They had come so far, and she didn’t know where they were going or why they had to leave home, but she had no choice but to hold her father’s hand and follow him. It was dark and cold. She wore simple, black clothes made of cotton, with no embroidery or patterns whatsoever. Her father next to her wore the same, with a shawl and a round hat made of straw. They would never have worn these sorts of things before tonight. Before tonight, they would have been riding horses, surrounded by guards and servants, but here they were, trudging through the forest outside the castle, alone.

The Long, Slow March of Time
She opened her eyes on yet another day. Instinctively, she reached across the bed, feeling for that which she knew wouldn't be there. It had been well over a year now, since the death of her husband, and she missed him more terribly that she ever thought possible. It was almost a grim ritual that she still reached for him every morning, even though she knew that the bed was empty apart from herself.

A Message in the Clouds
I floated a thousand feet over the Point Breeze Gas Works. From this vantage, one could imagine it was a gothic cathedral, complete with crenelated turrets, sprawling majestically along the Schuylkill River. The industry below, illustrated by billowing towers of black smoke, was muted in absolute silence from this height, adding to the impression of divine tranquility.

Down The Cold Dark Barrel - Part Two
As quickly as Winston faded into the night sky, he opened up hazily to a morning ceiling. His glaring blue eyes striking wide after feeling the sun gleam in from a window that also permitted a pleasurable breeze and the elegance of birds singing. Picking his head up slightly to view his surroundings, his own neck had him locked in place and kept him down in the awfully comfortable bed. Never had he felt so much comfort while being in so much pain in his life.

600 AD - Session Zero
This series will be following, as best I can recall, the events that took place during a D&D campaign that I very much enjoyed. It has been on hiatus for a while now due to various real-life events that have kept the group from continuing, but we all have a decent amount of hope for the future, and in the meantime I should at least be able to piece together the events that happened so far. In this post I'll be going over the basic layout of information from the start of the campaign, as well as the information regarding the character that I played.

"Evil" Queen: Vampire Hunter. Runner-Up in Legends Rewritten Challenge.
Artemisia, newly Queen of Schwarzwald, saw the signs in her step-daughter immediately. The current beauty trents might tend toward fairness and red lips, but not like this. Skin as white as freshly-fallen snow, without even a pink tinge at the cheeks. One might be tempted to call it a deathly pallor, had the young princess not been witnessed running and laughing like any child might be expected...
