In a fantasy world of witches and wizards, there lives a dragon who has never seen another creature like himself. One day, while she was out exploring the forest, she comes across a small human toddler who appears to have been abandoned. It was a spooky night, the sort of night where the moon is hidden behind thick clouds and the only sound is the rustle of leaves in the forest. A gust of wind blows through the forest, rustling the leaves of the trees.

A lone figure prowls through the shadows, searching for something... or someone. Suddenly, a small cry pierces the air, and the figure's sharp ears perk up. Following the sound, the figure comes across a sight that would melt the hardest of hearts: a toddling child, lost and alone in the spooky woods.

The child is crying and looks scared, but they stop crying when they see the figure looming over them. The figure is a dragon, one of the last remaining members of their kind. It's been years since they've seen another living creature, let alone a human child. The dragon is curious about this strange creature but doesn't know what to do. They can't just leave the child here to fend for themselves, but they also don't want to be found by humans.

After a moment's deliberation, what the dragon does next is unexpected. Rather than eating the child or leaving it to fend for itself, the dragon decides to take the Toddler back to its cave in the mountains and care for him. Tentatively, the dragon extends a clawed hand to touch the child's cheek, dried tears clinging to their skin.

The dragon carefully picks up the child and cradles them in their arms before setting off into the darkness of the woods... It might not be safe, but it's better than leaving them out here alone. Along the way, the dragon makes a few stops, hunting down some food for the child and gathering some soft blankets. When they finally arrive at the dragon's lair, nestled deep in the forest, the dragon tucks the child into bed and settles down to keep watch.

From then on, the dragon becomes like a parent to the child, raising him as best it can. Over the next few years, the dragon and the toddler become close friends, the dragon cares for the child as if it were its own offspring. The two quickly develop a strong bond, and they remain together for many years to come. Though their relationship is unconventional, it proves to be beneficial for both parties involved. The dragon teaches the toddler how to fly and breathe fire, and the toddler helps the dragon learn to read and write.

Even though the toddler’s life in the Forest is far from easy, it's also filled with love and adventure. The Toddler learns from the dragon and grows into a powerful wizard, while the dragon comes to see humans in a new light. They even go on adventures together, facing challenges that they never could have faced alone. The two of them may never be completely conventional, but they're happy nonetheless.

Finally, when the toddler is grown, he decides to leave the dragon's cave and venture out into the world on his own. Deep down, the dragon always knew that she could not keep the toddler forever. He was not a dragon, and sooner or later he would have to return to his own kind. So, with a heavy heart, she seldomly watched from the shadows as the toddler grew into a young man; waiting for the right moment to intervene. When he finally inquired of his own kind, she knew it was time.

Though they were sad to part ways, they both knew that it is time for the toddler to start his own journey. she scooped him up in her talons and flew him high above the forest until she found a small village by the edge of the woods. Gently, she set him down on the doorstep of a warm and welcoming home, parting ways with the child she would always think of as her own.

Nevertheless; In the end, this unlikely pair provides a lesson in tolerance and understanding. And even though dragons are naturally presumed to be fearsome creatures, this uncommon bondage proves that dragons are not without compassion. Sometimes, they form close bonds with other creatures, even those that are very different from them. Such is the case of the dragon who finds a lost toddler in the forest. Nevertheless, their time together might have felt short lived. It is safe to say that the toddler and the dragon will always remember their time together and cherish the bond that they shared.
