Good Luck
“Good luck.” Lance’s bass tone came through the line with a weird lack of inflection. “What?” I picked up with my left hand while I was fumbling with my gym bag. Right when he called, it had gotten stuck in the trunk of the cab somehow and I was trying to wrench it out.

I am Bexley The Bloodletters Scourge chap 35 “heavy is the sword”
I brought my katana on this journey, but now I feel my entire body changing, I can’t hold it anymore. I would usually have Ax carry it for me, but he isn’t here. He’s with my husband Stan and the rest of our family and friends.

They Shouldn't Have Come Here
They shouldn’t have come here, but they did. On the third day of June in the year 2032 aliens invaded Earth. I know this sounds like the beginning of a cliché Sci-Fi novel. You’re probably thinking something along the lines of, “Great, another War of the Worlds clone.” This is not that story.

When Gods Fall to Summer
https://vocal.media/resources/a-transparent-look-at-vocal-challenges-and-top-stories ^inspired by this post, a prompt I left in the comment section. I do hope it will be selected as a running option in the challenges. This is my take and hopefully inspiration to others who are so inclined and want to leave their own version tagged below in the comments. Writing Prompt Idea: "When Gods Fall to Summer". Open your story with this line: "I knew something was wrong the night strangers began kneeling in my yard to pray." The summer the gods returned, they came back quietly. A storm uncovered something buried in the woods behind your house. Soon, strangers began leaving offerings at the edge of the trees. Candles were left burning on your porch steps overnight and flowers appeared along the edge of your forgotten curb. Some could be seen kneeling in your yard to pray. Others peered silently into the forest as if waiting for something to answer back. But soon, the letters began appearing. Warnings. Promises. Confessions. All written in unfamiliar handwriting. All writing to the thing behind your house. Voices whisper through the floorboards at night, inside the walls, from the dark beyond the trees. Around town, people are disappearing by the dozens and buildings are burning to the ground. Animals are found, stunned into silence. Nowhere is safe. Chaos spreads like wildfire, and it all leads back to whatever was uncovered in the woods behind your home. Is this thing beneath the Earth a fallen god, a sacred relic—long forgotten by time, or something far-worse pretending to be holy? Let this story inspire you to create your own and see what magic you uncover in this world and the next. Thank you for reading and participating :)

Pink Buds. Top Story - June 2026. Content Warning.
Running through the weed patch, laughing, I listened for the others as they ran all around me. Who knew there was such a gold mine, or rather, field, right here outside the city limits? Jay Jay had stopped somewhere up ahead, and I could hear him with his “Blessed Mother Mary’s.” While Will and Trina were giggling together somewhere behind me, Suzie was just ahead of me, just as giddy as I was, looking over her shoulder like she wanted to ask me a question.

Where I should be
Ida startled awake in her seat, gasping for air, as if an invisible force had pushed it out of her body. “Kathrine, honey, are you alright?” Ida blinked quickly. The woman tilted her head. She repeated the question, enunciating every “t”. She sounded like the people in the movie Ida had seen at school, not too long ago. What was it called again? Right, “The Great Gatsby”.
