A Hollow Heart
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Before Dragon-kind departed, they’d left a message scorched in the mountainside near Hana Holworth’s home: We will return. Humanity cannot survive. Hana wished she’d been alive to see those famous words flaming between the trees.

Dragonbane
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. And yet, there one was feasting on my horse. Figures. The massive beast was four times the size of my Shadowmere. There’s no way a horse of her size would fill a stomach that massive. The creature would soon be hunting for her rider once it licked the horse’s bones clean.

Clipped
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Now it’s not uncommon to see giant clouds of smoke drifting up over the tree line, streams of exhaust pour out of the giant creatures’ nostrils just about nonstop. The only time the streams slow down are when the dragons are sleeping, then small puffs escape their snouts to the rhythm of their snores. Long gone were the days when dragons were mysteries and tales of sightings were rarities. Excursions to the highest mountains were needed to even hope to catch a glimpse of the magnificent beasts. They were known to soar around mountain peaks and dwell in caves etched into the mountainside. It’s said that all dragons have been found and caught and are enslaved by the Forest Council for labor. Society has found a way to tame even dragon’s fire.

The Fate of the Elements
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. They used to stick to the mountain circle, mostly staying on their ruling peak. While other elementals were free to roam the land, the mountains locked the dragons upon their peaks. They were deemed too powerful to roam free. That was, until eight years ago, when the eight mountains turned on each other and the dragon wars started. The Valley was always an area of peace before the wars. It was a place of balance that never favored any of the eight peaks.

There weren't always dragons in the Valley.
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. But she knew what she saw. The haunted Forelei staff called to her; its hand of black smoke clutching at her neck, suffocating her, and forcing her to see. The dragons had come to end the war.

The Awakening of Lightning
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Cannons, drilled into the side of the mountain that cradled the town of Thar, brought down anything that flew over it. They had laid dormant for over twelve years, maintained to a glistening shine by the cadets that polished them daily while the senior officers drank and gambled.

There weren't always dragons in the Valley.
“There weren't always dragons in the Valley.” “There was a time when magic flowed freely and without prejudice. It flows thru our flora and fauna, in the air and ground, and lastly within ourselves. Those golden years where all to short young one.” Aegix said as he looked out at the beautiful valley from his tower balcony, marveling at the breathtaking view that was this valley.

Threes' Zenith
Prologue: Before the Empire There weren’t always dragons in the valley. Long before the first dragons took to the sky, the valley was said to be ruled by something called “Humans”. They were strange scaleless creatures that were close to the same size as the Wingless. This information was gathered by studying the crumbling ruins and strange pictograms that the Humans left behind. These Humans were social creatures with a strong sense of community. This sense of community led to feuding among each other with varying degrees of aggression. On a local level they tended to have friendly competitions. For example, sometimes two groups would meet up and had what is referred to as a “rap battle”. This would consist of a member of each group taking turns making up rhymes to a musical beat. These rhymes would consist of unpleasant statements or observations about the opposing group, also known as a “dis”. This form of communication was used in many other areas of the Humans’ world as well. While there were friendly competitions there were also battles and wars across the Human world, like every other form of civilization that have emerged across Zenith. They had wars for resources, territory, and sometime powerful individuals would wage wars for reason that are still a mystery.

Brother
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Our parents came to the Valley in the early days of their union. Tales of fertile lands and wealthy life brought them to the Valley, where a bustling Town thrived season after season. Farmers produced steady crops and merchants had the finest of fabrics. Its success came from a sheltered life, nestled between the Twins as they affectionately called the steep mountain range walling the town. Tall slopes of evergreen woods, topped with a layer of snow, occasionally spitting flurries, rudely shifted by eastern winds. They stood guard from invaders, storms, and all evil that lurked outside. On one end of the Valley, the Narrow Pass, allowing the river to trickle through, widening as it twists and turns through the forest, sometimes placid as a mirror, sometimes furious and wild. It cuts our town in half and opens wide into a wide sandy bay, often visited by trading vessels from across the sea. Our Town shone amongst the greenery. Humble homes, painted in white or yellow, used to reflect the sunlight across miles, a beacon of warmth and safety. Winding cobbled streets, overseen by wooden balconies, each bore lovingly carved bannisters a joint effort between the family that inhabits the home.
