An Antiquarian's Race Against Time
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley, or so I thought… As a book collector and antiquarian, I treasured history, storytelling, and artifacts. I was on my way to a new antiques shop in the Valley that I’d heard about, searching for a specific book of world history that I hoped would complete my collection. Other bookstores in town seemed at a loss for my request. I'd searched every bookstore and antiques specialty shop in town for this treasure and my last hope of finding it was at the latest antiques shop downtown. The shop had no name — only an address. I drove my car down some cobblestone roads, swerved into an alleyway and parked.

THE DRAGONS DESTRUCTIONS
THE DRAGONS DESTRUCTIONS There weren't always dragons in the valley. Believe what I say when I tell you, before the dragons, our forefathers dwelt in this valley for many centuries walking and talking with our God. And there was peace and harmony with all man's nations including a high respect for nature.

Fool's Gold
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. That was only true up until nine months ago when the Hunter Mining Company came to town and reopened the Boundary Red Mineral Mine. Since then hundreds of people have moved to our little town of Stardew Valley; former population size of 2,133 currently at 2,701 and growing. The mining company says they are here because the mine has some rare earth metals that electric cars run on. I thought electric cars run on electric, but what do I know since I am only 10. What I do know is there is something more valuable than battery parts in the mine. You didn’t hear it from me, but I think it’s gold.

The Promise of Scales
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. We looked for them though. In the skies, in the clouds. We heard tell they were huge and beautiful when flying, but dangerous when hungry or upset. Our father left us a few years ago to hunt dragons. Only a few months before that we moved to the Valley, and we moved because Mother died. Father always said it was a dragon that killed her, but nobody ever believed him.

Paxley Express
Paxley Express or: How to Train Your Dragon(not to eat your customers) by Darin A. Lester There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Traffic has always been a problem, but dragons... The whole dragon thing was relatively new. In a lot of ways, my life is roughly the same, in others, violently different. I was a courier then, and I remain a courier now. I've just traded out my sturdy street bike for a tough as nails and ornery dragon named Paxley. I used to live in a real crap apartment, but now because of the check I get each month from the government, I live in a larger loft with a giant door that opens up directly to the outside world. It's still a crap apartment, but it has much higher ceilings than my last one, for sure.

Ashbringer
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Kobal remembered the day it all changed. Her disheveled father, bleeding as he stumbled into the family’s cabin, raving about the otherworldly beasts that descended upon their precious sheep flock. Carnage, he howled. She remembered how the hearth’s firelight danced across his pale eyes from the way they darted wildly around the room. The other strong men of the clan took one look at his torn and burnt furs and knew something had happened, but dragons? Real dragons in the Deep Valley after a thousand years; surely not.

Ten Sun's
"There weren't always dragons in the Valley...In fact, this Valley was once a lost and forgotten place. Ravaged by days and left for dead by the earth. The Valley of Ten Sun's had not known lifeforms for an offensive amount of centuries. A "Valley" is actually a kind word for what this place used to be. Stoic land and motionless air, plagued by silence for so long. And then one day, one singular and extraordinary day, a star from the night sky fell to earth and shattered into ten pieces. The pieces of the star ricocheted outwards across the Valley and bore ten globes of blinding light where each piece fell. Each sphere containing the vibrating hearts of ten dragon's that would soon be born. Some believe the dragon's materialized out of sun rays while others think they flew up to our surface from the bowels of the earth. Despite what you may believe about the beginning of their existence, they are here. They live. Now there are dragons in the Valley. The Valley of Ten Su-" CUT!!!!!!!
