THE DRAGONS DESTRUCTIONS
CENTURIES HAVE PAST
THE DRAGONS DESTRUCTIONS
There weren't always dragons in the valley. Believe what I say when I tell you, before the dragons, our forefathers dwelt in this valley for many centuries walking and talking with our God. And there was peace and harmony with all man's nations including a high respect for nature.
The sky was always blue. Not a cloud to be seen. The air was fresh and the sun warmed them daily.
Our forefathers worked and tilled the land for only the amount of food which was needed to sustain the nation. For at that time, in our history there was no such thing as greed or jealousy for one another and we gave thanks to our God. For all was good..
Our God taught and showed them how to respect nature so they could become as one with it. They did learn with great interest. Learning how not to over work the land, which kept it fertile and rich with nutrients only bringing forth the best crops.
In the valley, the Valley of Newtauk which was surrounded by the vast mountain range of Coltatan on three sides, was the richest valley. Two rivers and several streams flowed within the valley that produced an abundance of healthy fish in its crystal, clear, shimmering waters. It has been said that the sound that the waters produced was that of harps and flutes playing all the time. At night time it has been said that the people living in the valley under protection of their God could hear gentle singing from afar, causing everyone to sleep with a smile. This refreshed them and gave them renewed strength for the next day.
The soil, darkest and richest in the world, received its nutrients from these flowing rivers and streams. This caused everything coming forth from it to be better than anywhere else. The trees in the forest were taller than any other tree and bore succulent, nutritious fruit year round. Producing apples, oranges and lemons the size of lettuce. The soil brought forth grapes the size of kiwis. Cabbage the size of pumpkins. Potatoes and onions the size and length of a half a loaf of bread.
The grass carpeting the valley grew greener than any other grass.
Flowers of every assortment, color and scent also filled the valley.
Yes, all was good and goodness could be seen for all the future to come.
The day came when our lord God told our forefathers that he was leaving for a moment and that, that moment to them would feel as an eternity. But, fear not, for I have set everything in place and taught you well to live. I will return. This is what he, our God, told them before he vanished.
Life continued as if nothing had changed for them.
But, there was a great change.
Unbeknownst to our forefathers that deep in the cold mountain range of Coltatan. Shalibowe, queen of the blue dragons who looked at the Valley of Newtauk for countless centuries as a great prize to plunder could smell the precious stones and minerals beneath the rich soil of the valley that have never been used, nor would they ever which made her angry. But, she knew the creatures that inhabited the land of the valley were under a great protection. And whatever this protection was, she could feel its might. A power that could not be gauged. A power source that had no limit. A power that could not be contested.
The knowledge of this unknown power source brought agony to her. To have something so close to her grasp, but so far. For, Shalibowe desired these items to be hers and would do anything to make this desire, this want, come true. She just didn’t know when it would come true.
One day, a disturbance in the cosmos awakened her. She stood like a living boulder and shook off eight decades of cold mountain dust which accumulated on her giant blue scales causing her to sneeze. Something was not the same as it has been for centuries. Something was out of alignment. She walked through the many caverns inside the mountain seeking the answer inside her mind. As hard as she tried, she couldn’t piece together what had changed or what was different. So, she traveled back to her enormous cave. Laid her blue scally body down in the exact place she had awakened. Closed her slitted eyes and went into an uneasy slumber.
Mountain dust of two centuries hugged and caressed Shalibowe before she awakened again. This time she knew what had changed. The protection had weakened over the valley. The time was right and she was ready to act. She only needed to devise a plan to make sure she would be successful. After plotting and scheming she knew what was needed for her to do.
Shalibowe sent a call out to Horatip, queen of the copper dragons and Pipagryora, king of the silver dragons to gather the other dragons under one banner to conquer and plunder the valley of every last drop of anything that was worth anything. And waited for an answer that came quickly.
