Alpha Omega
The sound of metal rhythmically clanking in tempo woke Cal into darkness and a cold wind swept over his naked body. Waking him from what, he didn’t know. He could have sworn he was involved in something, but he was only at the edge of a memory and could not unlock anything in his mind.

The Runaway
The Runaway 1. Within seconds of awakening, the Woman was on her feet with her back against the wall. She scanned the surroundings for the safest exit: window, vent, door, and a real Picasso. Then, her eyes landed on a little girl in the corner, struggling to open a jar of jam.

The Sleepy Mermaid
Once Upon A Time, in the oceans deep, there was a city named Finsville made of coral and reefs. In it lived merpeople of the sea with long and bright tails and pearl necklaces hanging around their necks. So deep into the ocean was Finsville that no sunlight ever came down on the coral and reef houses. So, the merpeople, who slept in clamp beds and ate seagrass for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, would often swim to the surface to see the sun. But most of the time, the merpeople were happy on the ocean floor, in the coral and reef houses of their beloved Finsville, where the soil did not stick to their lovely tails. Although not as bright or warm as the sunlight, the lights from lanternfishes were enough for them, thank you very much! The lanternfishes hung around in the streets and within houses, peacefully living with the merpeople, lighting up their otherwise dark city. And so, life went on in Finsville, where everyone was happy as they could be. That is, except for one little mermaid…

Purple Mountain Train
“I… can’t see… can I?” I have no idea who I was talking to. Was I alone? I feel so off. Wait, I can see, it’s just so… so weird. Man, this train is really moving. Oh gosh, I really don’t feel good. I’m looking at my hands but they don’t look real. It looks like my hand is resting on my stomach, but I don’t feel it there. I begin patting myself down. As I touch each part of my body each part begins to feel a little more real, a little more solid? Is that the feeling I’m trying to describe? Why do I not feel solid? This train, I’ve heard of high-speed trains but I hadn’t realized they go this fast. I close my eyes and try to push my body down into the seat. I just feel the need to make sure I’m really here in this train. It kind of feels like I’m not. This may sound crazy but I feel like I’m here, but wasn’t here a few minutes ago. I feel like I’m struggling to hold on to reality. I’m on a train, I feel like I should have a ticket? Maybe that will tell me where I’m going. Hmmm… no, I don’t feel anything in my pockets.

The Premonition
Raina awakens, immersed in a pristine, cataclysmic black. A darkness she'd never known. Her chest panging. Her gut pulling and whirling about like a cyclone. A rhythmic commotion bustling beneath her, that's palpable. With angst, she manages to sit upright. She perceives the cool, smooth surfaces surrounding her to be metal. Although nearly paralyzed, it becomes clear to Raina, that she is in motion. She must be on a train. How did she arrive here? "Hello", her quavering voice echoes through the hollow, lifeless void. "Hello" , she cried again. This time with more desperation in her voice. No response. Now frantic, she begins to cry. She draws her knees to her chest and pretzel-ed her arms around her legs. Cocooning herself in sorrow. She rocked and wept for what seemed like hours before she mustered the courage to stand. Shakily, she finds her bearings and takes hold of the cool metal seating in front of her. Stepping out into the dark isle, she begins gaining ground and guessing her way through the rail-carriage. Several blind steps later, her extended hands land at a door. She manages to push the heavy door ajar and sees the first sign of light on the tracks. Intoxicating sparks danced beneath her. Little sparks of hope that would light her way to the next carriage. Raina seizes the opportunity of the flickers, leaping across to the moving compartment. She makes it across, and enters. Dazzling light pours though and she shields her face from the brilliance. "We have summoned you" , a silvery voice says. Her eyes still adjusting, she makes out a room of cloaked figures, that fill the carriage. Their faces become more clear now. A soiree of iridescent hues, radiant and glowing. Raina only was afforded small glimpses before having to shelter her eyes. Much like gazing into the sun. "Who are you?", Raina implores. "We're the Premonitioners" , another figure answers. " We won't harm you. We have vital information to give you. Listen carefully. There are dark forces in your world. Powerful forces that are planning an ambush on your people. They will release a geo-magnetic storm on your people, wiping out almost all living beings on earth. You have been chosen to stop them." "But, how?" , Raina asks. "Your mission is simple. Hidden in plain sight, a fountain exists right outside of your library." "The Paladin Fountain!" , Raina exclaims. "Under the trickling waters, lies a trapped entity that wants to save your people." The cloaked figure extends their glistening hand towards Raina, placing a golden key in her hand. Now go, and release your hero!" Raina startles awake to find herself back in the library. She had been studying here before she found herself on a train. "Is everything alright dear?" , asks the sweet librarian. "Oh, yes" , I must have dozed off. I had the most curious dream. I'd better go now." Raina gathered her belongings and heads towards the door. "Oh, Raina! You've dropped something, Dear." The librarian hands the item to Raina. "You'd better get going, it's looking nasty out there." Raina looks down, opening her hand, she reveals the golden key that lay in her palm. Raina knew what she had to do. She had a mission, and a premonition. She runs out the door and leaps into the fountain, diving under. She finds the home for the golden key and twists it into its place. There was a final clap of thunder in the sky above her, before the clouds dissipated and the sky was again blue. Raina's job was complete. The End.

WAKE UP! WAKE UP! TESTING STARTS IN 15 MINUTES! Waking up to the blaring PA system made me more frightened and confused. Where am I? How did I get here? I kept pondering this as I slowly got up from my seat. Testing in 10 minutes, blared the system again. Test? What test? I continue looking around for any hint as to where am I and what is expected of me. Finally, I noticed a sliding door at the end of the lighted aisle… a train! I am on a train! The realization just prompted more questions, where are we headed, where are the other passengers and the biggest, how did I get here. Through my brain fog I began looking out the windows; finding only blackness with shadows that were either abnormally tall people, or tress. I continue down the aisle looking for any other passengers or anything with an indication of what test this PA is talking about. TESTING IN 5 MINUTES! The PA notified me again. I finally approach the end of the aisle, and as I reach to open the door to the next carriage, ]with a slight hope there may be other people on the other side] a letter catches my eye:
