Jamison William Wirt
Here is a quick write up I did for a character in a homebrew tabletop game a friend was running. The character is an Aasimar warlock with a Celestial patron. I was trying to decide between playing another cleric or trying a warlock for the first time when I found the Celestial in Xanathar’s Guide to Everything. It’s basically a “heavenly” take on warlocks, the inverse of a class that’s considered “dark” and frequently evil. It’s a path that let’s a warlock heal his or her allies between bouts of Eldritch Blast. I wanted to attach a typical dark side to my character for the sake of providing inner conflict so the character has the “Haunted One” background, leaving him stuck with a dark apparition that plagues him. Here’s my Celestial ‘lock Jamison.

Day of the Unfit
Sarora stood among small trees and plants grazing her coat. A gust of wind forced a thorned branch to scratch her cheek, but her eyes didn’t so much as blink. They remained focused on the sleeping babe Sarora had laid in a nook of downed leaves and small, blue flowers. Only thirty feet stood between the child and Sarora, but it felt like thirty miles. She forced herself to stay rigid, emotionless. Waiting.

The Dragon She
She was the oldest of their kind, and She could remember a time before war. A time when dragonfolk and mankind slithered side by side in the realm of Man. But those memories were as smoky as the warfields now, and dragons no longer fell into worlds of chaos and battle, choosing instead to skip from orderly realm to orderly realm, as if those other places of darkness and blood didn’t exist at all.

Bless the Beast
I am Allegra. I am a warrior. I am a leader. I am the Queen of the dead. I am the Grim Reaper. I am the Wrath of God. I am Fury itself. My rage knows no end! I will silence that which is evil in one fell swoop of my talons. But at this moment, I am wounded. Man has harmed me for the last time, and I will fight to the death and kill any man that crosses my path as I try to heal here in the darkest of nights with only the moon to guide my eye as I lay vulnerable with only the shadows to protect me from the gaze of any passersby.

A Dragon’s Heart, Burning Bright
The shadows appeared deeper and darker the further into the forest he wandered. The fading light of day was giving way to the muted shades of twilight, draping the forest depths beneath a veil of shadow. Gone were the shafts of sunlight which had pushed their way through the canopy above. The beams which had once helped to illuminate the space had grown fainter and fainter, until all that remained was the distant glimmer of starlight, glimpsed fleetingly through the thick crowns of the trees.

Xylon
The rays of the morning sun streamed through the canopy of the Telora forest, bathing the forest floor in dappled beams of light. Through the speckled patches of light, a lone toddler made his way through the underbrush, babbling happily and oblivious to any impending danger. His laughter reverberated throughout the forest causing several animals to retreat into the comfort and safety of their dens. One creature, however, stirred from his morning respite; a trace of curiosity flickering within him.

Wings
It was early morning, with the sun still below the Orasobian horizon. Aldes was waking up, his eyelids slowly beginning to unlatch, his wings extending out to the leaves around him, and his tail extending to the tree trunk far behind him. The black and gray dragon took a long, deep breath and then slowly exhaled. He watched in satisfaction as a mild plume of smoke escaped his mouth and nostrils. “Finally,” he thought, as the sun’s rays began to pierce the thick leaves of the Asip trees. As the light began to assist in bringing Aldes’s awakening process to a finish, his stomach began to rumble very loudly, so he started to walk through the forest with the hopes of finding something tasty to eat.

Severed Bonds of the Winged Sky
Unhindered sunlight showered down upon crimson scales as the morning air streamed past, clouds dissipating against plated skin allowing the moisture to be absorbed. Birds flew past, first the Robin, then the Hawk hoping for a quick meal. Argentia opened her mouth, enveloping both in her maw effortlessly. A perfect example of the ladder of superiority, with the Dragon always at the top.
