Sat on the Bed. Top Story - October 2023. Content Warning.
As we sat on the bed, just sitting on the edge of the bed. There was nothing we could say, nothing I could say to lessen the blunt force trauma our lives had received. Love was still in the air, I knew that much but grief was taking up space in the atmosphere too. So, we just sat. I knew she would talk when she needed to and while I needed to talk too, now was not the time. Now was the time for silent reflect and memorialising to the life that was lost. Now was the time to sit in the grief and let it wash over us. There is no point trying to hold back the tears or the anger. We are not a dam that can hold back a surge from the river. We could try, but if we did, we would just build up the force and strength of the grief.

Max and the Magical Paintbrush
Max was a young man who wanted to paint. Wherever he went, his dependable paintbrush went with him. At some point, he chose to go to the forest to paint the wonderful landscape, so he got together his paints and his brush and set off. As Max wandered further into the forest, he saw something odd - the trees and plants were all not being painted by his brush. All things considered, they were by all accounts drawn and painted by some otherworldly power. Max was shocked by this and inquisitive regarding what was going on. He kept strolling and in the long run happened upon a clearing. In the clearing, there was a little old cabin. In the wake of entering the house, Max saw an unusual elderly person, resting in a seat. Close to him was a luxurious painted box. Max was enamored by the excellence of the crate and its complex plans. He concluded he needed to bring it back home with him. So he painstakingly opened the container and inside was an old, charming paintbrush. The elderly person unexpectedly awakened and said to Max in a rough voice, "I realized you would come, At the most. You have been picked by the mystical paintbrush to assist with making a delightful world." The elderly person gave Max the brush and made sense of that the brush had supernatural properties and it was his errand to utilize the brush and carry tone and life to the world. Max apprehensively took the brush, said thanks to the elderly person and ran out of the cabin. He ran as far as possible back home, paintbrush close by. At the point when he got back home, he was loaded up with energy and expectation. The following day, Max went outside with his brush and paints and began to paint. It was really astonishing! Wherever he painted, anything he considered, was rejuvenated with striking tones and detail. Max had found the otherworldly force of the paintbrush and he was overflowing with satisfaction. Until the end of his days, Max circumvented his civilization, making eminent bits of craftsmanship and giving pleasure to everybody he met. The legend of Max and the otherworldly paintbrush was perpetually gone down through ages, until its privileged insights and powers were found by everybody, leaving everybody with a feeling of stunningness and miracle.

The Existential Woman
Being back at her brother's house did not make Shanna happy. He'd inherited the house over two years ago, and for all the money he'd spent on this and that the house still looked awful. Sure there had been some improvements, but none that the neighborhood would notice. The fence in the backyard hidden to any walking by. The new refrigerator, stove, washer, dryer, would not be considered cosmetic improvements. The watered, raked, and mowed grass would only be considered basic maintenance. Shanna's paintings or decorations would only be considered "silly" or "temporary", not substantial or valuable. So when Shanna sat around his house while he was at work day to day, she tried to blind herself to these details.
