Receptasordiumpyra

A “Dumpster Fire” time of life; a measure of time in one's life in which anything and everything that CAN go wrong DOES…and spectacularly

Sabine. The dark period from 2021 to 2023 and, sadly, still going strong is Sabine’s Receptasordiumpyra phase of life. Unenviable, unrelenting and a span of time in life that would have brought many weaker than Sabine to the brink of madness and possibly with their toes hanging so sadly but hesitantly over the edge of a tall bridge.

2021 brought the loss of Sabine’s beloved yet interminably complicated mother after a long hard-fought Cancer battle. 2022 brought news of a devastating Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis for her father and later his death too. 2023, in an inexplicable cosmic conspiracy to wreak bad fortune, Sabine was both bit by a rare northeastern U.S. spider and, while still largely debilitated by a serious systemic anaphylactic reaction to it and the necessarily aggressive treatment, spilled scalding hot soup in her own lap, resulting in gruesome widespread 3rd and 2nd degree leg burns.

Receptasordiumpyra indeed; from the Latin derivations for a receptable of refuse, filth, impurities and waste and that of fire, funeral pyres, engulfing flames and destructive burning. Sabine has undoubtedly been living through a veritable “dumpster fire” time of her life!

Awakening every day with slightly less optimism for legitimately brighter days being ahead, pushing on Sabine still must do, sharp sense of humor intact above all else. If not laugh, then what? Cry.

Hope springs eternal that all things, like Receptasordiumpyra too, shall pass.
