Horrabull

Horrabull - a deep love or infatuation with horror movies.

Laurie Prescott had been told from an early age that she was a “Horrabull”. When her parents first called her this she was only five years old. In those younger years she thought nothing of it, but when she became a teenager she started giving it some thought. At first she denied her horrabullity when she first came to understand it, but she also became open to the idea that it might be true when she retraced her social habits.

One day Laurie sat with her mother Nancy and went down the list of habits that determine whether or not someone is a horrorabull. First Nancy asked Laurie what is the first genre of film that comes to mind when she and her friends go to the movies on Fridays. Nancy subtly replied “Horror or at least thriller.” Nancy then asked when Laurie channel surfs at home what is the first movie she hopes she’ll come across to watch. Laurie hesitated and then replied “Horror.” Nancy then asked Laurie what is the first thing she does after watching a new horror movie for the first time. In detail, Laurie replied “go online and see if there will be a sequel to that movie or not and look for other horror movies from that same filmmaker. To this response Nancy laughed and told Laurie she is no doubt a Horrabull. Laurie laughed and responded “I guess I’ll have to own it.”
