Uncle Amerida runs a small grocery store alone in a corner of the block, relying on a small business and earning a meager profit to make a living.

During lunch break that day, a young man named Roy came to the grocery store and bought a bottle of condiment. Roy came to Port-au-Prince from out of town not long ago to work and often visited Uncle Amerida's grocery store.

An hour later. Uncle Amerida suddenly realized that he had made a mistake: Roy wanted the most expensive of the brands, and he gave Roy the cheaper one. Thinking of this, Uncle Amerida was very disturbed. Although his lunch was cooking in the pot, and Roy probably had opened the condiments to use when he went back, Uncle Amerida decided to change a bottle for Roy.

Taking a bottle of condiments, Uncle Amerida went out of the grocery store and walked for more than 20 minutes to Roy's place. There are many rental houses here, and a large number of foreigners live there. It was during his lunch break, and Uncle Amerida didn't know which house Roy lived in, because he was worried that the food on his stove would burn, he opened his throat and called out Roy's name.

Many people who were taking a nap, including Roy, were woken up, and they didn't know what was going on, so they put on their clothes and went out to check. At this moment, the house and the earth shook violently - there was an earthquake! Only later did everyone know that this was the earthquake in Haiti that shocked the world.

In this way, Uncle Amerida, who was unwilling to let customers suffer a little loss, inadvertently and dramatically saved the lives of more than a dozen mortal people, including himself.

Small goodness is not small. Perhaps a slight act of kindness between gestures opens up precisely the great realm of destiny!

There is also a similar story in India.

There are two adjacent villages in northern India, one of which was a frequent night-time burglary, and many villagers' belongings were swept away by masked robbers who broke into their homes late at night. If the owner resisted a little, he would be stabbed in a pool of blood by the robbers, but there has never been an accident in the neighboring village.

Later, the police finally solved the case and brought the robbers to justice. During the interrogation, when asked why the robber only chose one village to start, but did not commit any crimes against the other village, the robber replied that he often visited the other village, but whenever he approached the courtyard wall of the residents, there were always Birds are noisy. The panicked cry of the bird woke the owner, so the lights in the house were turned on immediately.

Later, the police learned that in this village where the robbers could not open the gap, the courtyard walls of the residents were built by a craftsman named Meng Cai. Every time Meng Cai built the courtyard wall, he always remembered to deliberately leave some holes for the birds to build their nests - the small kindness given to the birds inadvertently saved the property and even the lives of the people of a village from being violated.

Goodness is big and small, but in many cases, the meaning of small goodness is not few.

There is an old saying in China: "Don't do evil for small things, and don't do good for small things". Those who truly do small good will find that they originally opened a small window, but inadvertently opened a door.
