Days passed since Rowan got discovered and he is nowhere to be found. Well, to be more exact he does not want to be found. He is the type of guy who likes operating from the shadows after all. ‚ At least Mr. Columbus kept his promise to me and didn’t give me away. For now.’ Rowan thinks to himself as he gives a heavy sigh. He is awfully concerned with his future. He cannot make a wrong move or all his fun will be ruined for good. He did not want history to repeat itself.

The young man frowns at the thought but immediately keeps himself away from diving deeper into it. He makes an exciting plan to explore the suburbs of this village. He has been intrigued by them ever since he moved in. He is pretty sure that the Odds Village has more to it than it shows. He does not believe in such a concept as perfection and this is one of the reasons he came here. With his hands buried in his pockets, he scans around the area. Older houses pop up as he gets closer to the other end of the village. No more fancy details or well-maintained gardens. That means, no one seems to be living here. ‚Isn’t this interesting?’ he muses. He somehow feels like he is transported back in time.

At some point, he is drawn to the backyard of one of those abandoned homes. His special power catches on some funky energy around the area. He lifts up one ivy branch as he passes through the broken fence. He moves forward with caution in case he draws attention to something dangerous. He stops for a moment, noticing a well on his left although it is rather difficult to make something of it as it is covered in dirt and moss all over.

‚ I don’t like this at all. ‚ he states. All this bottled-up energy from those dirty waters is surely making him view the place more cautiously. The whole hut emits an ominous aura that intrigues him to investigate the whereabouts even further.

He always loved mysteries, myths, and legends and liked to do his little research about them. As a lonely kid back in school, this is what kept him entertained. Rowan takes a deep breath and keeps going only to find the front door ripped in pieces. ‚ Here goes nothing!’ he states while trying to brace himself. He leans a bit to avoid the upper part of what was left of the entrance and carefully goes into the home. He looks around before stepping forward just in case danger comes. The air becomes awfully heavy, an eerie vibe engulfing the whole area making it feel as if there is a masked presence around. He closes his eyes once again, his inner sight showing. He takes in every trace of energy he can until he identifies its source. A shiver comes down his spine, something in this place giving a bitter taste in his mouth. There is actually quite a lot to take in. This formidable energy has been stuck in here for years and no one dared to purify it. ‚ Who would though? I don’t see anybody else like me.’ he chuckles at his own thoughts. A sparkle of the spirit is sighted as it is trying arduously to conceal itself. But nothing escapes Rowan’s inner ability.

‚ It’s about time to show your true shape! I’m not here to hurt you!’ says Rowan as he declares his peace. A bright bolt-like figure starts moving aimlessly. It seems that it is trying to run away from the intruder, yet it does not have an exact direction. Rowan follows every move and he finally takes a tight grasp of it. The poor thing scared to death, struggles in vain to escape his grip.

‚Now, easy, easy, little friend. Don’t fight me, I’m here to help you.’ Our brave man whispers to it in hopes the little entity cooperates with him. After minutes of several attempts to fight him off, the little fellow finally settles down. ‘ There, now, do you mind telling me what happened to you? What keeps you here, my friend?’ Rowan’s newfound friend points at itself with a confused face as if it is trying to ask how he can see it. Rowan takes the hint and a small smile graces his lips. ‘ It’s my ability I inherited as a child. I can see many more interesting things like you. I vowed to do anything in my humble power to help spirits or magical creatures find their way to where they truly belong. ‘ he explains with genuine determination on his face. The little thing looks with amazement at him and then asks for him to release it from his hand. Rowan hesitates a little thinking it might run away, but to his surprise, the sweet entity flies around him happily. He giggles at its shenanigans but sighs in relief when his companion decides to sit comfortably on his right shoulder as if it is ready to dive into a story.

The magnificent spirit explained the story of its life. She is a little fairy until she has lost her own body form due to a pact she made with some other creature that looks like a human being. She was promised to find a long-lost gem that belonged to her fairy tribe and was said to have been found around here. She vowed that she would share it with her partner, yet as soon as they found it, the human-like being took it bounding her here with a spell. A barrier kept her trapped in this filthy place for over a year. ‘ Fairies aren’t supposed to be locked or they could lose their light, isn’t that right?’ She nods in response to his question. ‘ So, because he locked you here, you lost your fairy form and became something near to a ghost. And if you stay here any longer…’ he stops in the middle of the sentence feeling sick even at the thought of such a pure creature disappearing into nothingness. ‘ I guess, my first mission after a long while is to find the awful human who tricked you and stole your treasure. ‘ He nods in conviction. The pretty transparent fairy hugged him warmly in place of ‘ thank you’. ‘ I’ll take my leave now, little one. I will investigate on my own as you are still bound to this awful house. I promise to keep you informed and work fast on releasing you. ‘ He holds his pinky as the small entity mimics his gesture that seals his promise to the fairy-in-distress.
