Higher love

A fated encounter

There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Dragons, how absurd! Prince Moon required protection, and what’s better than fire-breathing security? These dragons weren’t ordinary, quite the opposite. They changed colors like chameleons, blending in with the royal palace for ultimate seclusion (and were highly introverted and loathed long stares).

Moon grew to be a free-spirited lad with a rebellious streak. His sheltered lifestyle made him curious about life beyond the palace walls. With his royal parents out of sight for an entire weekend, fate took its course. Moon was on schedule for an eventful Saturday night.

Clouds away lived a beauty named Sun residing in Ethereal, home to the lightest and brightest. She admired Moon from afar, her forbidden true love. With a love as intense as theirs, they were forced to live on opposite sides of the world. Moon’s memory of Sun was wiped completely clean.

The stars had aligned, and so the night had begun. Moon fled his royal abode and wandered off into Century Village. It is said that this village holds ancient secrets and that the truth shall rear its head to any curious soul in questioning.

Their separation was pure agony for Sun. With a heavy heart and weary spirit, she could no longer suppress. The trumpets of Heaven sang. It was finally time for a reunion.

Sun flew down from the clouds and searched the village for her lover. Pushing through crowds became exhausting, and faces became a blur. Sun accepted fate’s challenge, but as the night grew colder, discouragement arose.

Moon saw a beam so alluring that he froze. Sun was iridescent with varying hues of gold, orange, and pink. Her presence was sensual and breathtaking. The once composed prince was now a clumsy mess as he tripped over his own feet. Sun quietly giggled.

Slightly taken aback, Sun suddenly remembered much she loved Moon. The rebellious charmer challenged Sun in a way no one could. Like yin and yang, their magnetic pull was too strong to ignore.

The divine orchestrated a harmonic melody. Angels gazed from above as their romance unfolded. A swelling of violins filled their ears. Staring into Moon’s eyes moved Sun to tears. A few feet apart, in a trance, it felt like an ancient love in the present moment.

Screams and laughter sang from the Village Carnival bringing the lovers back down to reality. Moon grabbed Sun’s hand and ushered her across the street. They blushed, kissed, and rejoiced in love, all in a minute’s walk.

The carnival was an exciting experience. Moon and Sun were in a play land paradise. Their lips were stained from bright blue snow cones, while their faces turned green as they rode each rollercoaster.

The festivities were officially over, but the night was only beginning.

Stargazing was next on the agenda; the duo shopped for the perfect cloud. Moon and Sun settled on a heart-shaped model after two rounds of rock paper scissors. The salesman promised top-tier construction and “airy” comfort.

The stars created a passionate ambiance, unfathomable and eternal like Sun and Moon’s love. The lovers fell into a peaceful sleep.

Moon woke up to a beautiful sunrise- the cotton candy sky surrounded the clouds giving him a front-row seat to euphoria. Moon rolled over in hopes of sharing this experience with Sun, but she wasn’t there. Disappointed and conflicted, he hung his head in shame.

Suddenly, a pink ray of sunlight shined on Moon’s chest. He looked up, and there was Sun. She was there the entire time, watching while he slept. He finally understood that Sun would always be there, in love and light.
