Her plan had unfolded ever so slowly.

Unsure if it would falter and then spectacularly combust.

Or would her dreams be realised?

A plan that, if executed flawlessly, had the potential to succeed.

She was determined.

It was time to relearn her authentic voice.
This was her time for truth.

This plan of hers was to leave with a sound mind. Her sanity was unequivocal.

She would not let him defeat her.

It would become as she had proclaimed and laid down.

Over the years, she had taken and saved.

She completed her daily chores and the shopping once a week.

Then, on her return, he ordered her to check the shopping list. His unyielding degrading ritual to ensure that there had been no inclusion of superfluous items bought for her fancy.

Bit by bit.
Here and there, she syphoned and saved.

Now. The time was here.

She had saved for her cash-purchased car. Nothing was left in her wake, beyond freedom.

She had defeated her hatred.

He would remain unaware of her plan.

Her 'in-plain-sight money heist’ was carried out with extended stealth and foresight; carefully executed over 45 years.

Unbeknown to him.

Accolades for her, the woman unseen.

It took her time but she finally did it. This is very encouraging for women to take charge of their tough situations.

  • In an age where sound bytes exceed the attention spans of many, that's truly devotion to a cause.

A heist of her freedom.. a really good concept, and very nicely done here. I guess he carried out his own heist of 45 years of her time, but hopefully she can get that back with interest. Great story pauline
