Feeling like the last few months has put a few kg's onto your frame? here are some easy keto recipes that are sure to kick start your new weight loss journey :) keto is as we are aware, a high fat low sugar low carb diet, in saying that it can seem quite hard to follow but with the right motivation and simple food plan you should be on the right track
keto coconut porridge
time : 10 minutes
serves : 1

fat- 89% (49 g)
protein- 8% (9 g)

Ingredients:
30g butter or coconut oil
1 egg
pinch of ground psyllium husk powder
4 tbsp coconut cream
1 pinch of salt
Directions:
Add all ingredients to a non-stick saucepan. Mix well and place over low heat. Stir constantly until you reach a desired texture.
Serve with coconut milk or cream, top your porridge with fresh or frozen berries and shaved coconut.

Ingredients -
475 ml cold water
1 tea bag ( your choice of flavour )
225 ml ice cubes
flavorings of your choice such as mint leaves lemon cucumber etc
Directions -
combine the tea, flavouring and half the cold water in a pitcher leaving it in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours. Remove the tea bag and flavouring, replace with any fresh flavouring if you desire, add the rest of the cold water and serve you can add orange slices, peach or any fruit that you would desire
Roasted fennel and snow pea salad

ingredients -
450 g fresh fennel
3 tablespoons of olive oil
sea salt
1 lemon
2 tbsp sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds, toasted
150 g snowpeas
directions-
preheat oven to 450 F (225c). cut fennel into small wedges. arrange in a baking dish. drizzle olive oil on top. salt and pepper to taste.
cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice of one half. cut the lemon rind into thin wedges and place around the fennel as the lemon will give a lovely flavour to the baked fennel do not eat lemon rind if you dont want to.
bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until fennel has turned golden brown. while fennel is baking place pumpkin seeds in a dry fry pan and toast until slightly brown, mix the roasted fennel with raw shredded snowpeas and pumpkin seeds serve with chicken fish or meat
Low carb cinnamon apples with vanilla sauce

ingredients-
600 ml heavy whipping cream for vanilla sauce
1/2 teasp vanilla extract for vanilla sauce
2 tbsp butter for vanilla sauce
1 egg yolk for vanilla sauce
3 tblsp butter for cinnamon apples
3 apples, preferably firm and tart such as granny smith
1 tsp ground cinnamon
directions-
bring 1/2 cup whipping cream, butter and vanilla to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat. lower the heat and let it simmer for five minutes until the sauce turns creamy.
remove from heat, add the yolk while whisking vigorously. place in a cool place and let it cool completely.
whisk the remaining 2 cups of heavy whipping cream in a bowl, then add too the cooled refrigerated cream and mix together. place back in refrigerator for 30 minutes
wash apples and peel, core the apple and slice thinly. heat the butter in a frying pan and brown the apple slices. add cinnamon when they turn brown.
serve the apples warm with the vanilla sauce
