Use Your Air Fryer For Scrumptious, Crispy Chicken Fingers!

And you can make them in less time than going through a drive-thru!

Who doesn't like chicken fingers? Or tenders, or strips, or fillets, or goujons, or short breasts, (what??) or nuggets? No one, that's who! Unless you count those weirdos who refuse to eat yardbird.

Make this chicken tonight. Seriously, it will only take 20 minutes, start to finish, and your belly will thank you! So will your whole family! (Maybe even the ones who won't eat yardbird…)

Recipe

Air Fryer Chicken Fingers

Ingredients

1-2 pounds ounces raw chicken tenders, rinsed and patted dry

1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs

1/2 cup plain panko bread crumbs

4 large eggs

salt and pepper

olive oil spray (spray preferred, not required)

Method

Shake a little salt and pepper on both sides of the chicken fingers and set them aside. In a shallow dish, (think pie plate) crack the eggs and scramble them with a fork. In another shallow dish, mix the panko and the bread crumbs well. Dip the chicken fingers in the eggs and then dredge through the bread crumbs until they are well-coated. Spray them well with olive oil on both sides.

Plug in the air fryer, set to air fry at 400 degrees. Lay the chicken fingers in the basket, make sure to leave a little room between them, and then insert the basket into the unit and cook for 6 minutes. 

THAT's IT!! Dinner is served!

Tips and Tricks

  • You can try this recipe with any kind of chicken you have on hand. I've used thin-cut chicken breasts before with fabulous results. You will just have to adjust the cooking time depending on how thick the chicken is. 
  • Use plain breadcrumbs and season them to your preference. Italian seasoning would work as well as any other seasoning you like.
  • If you like bang in your chicken, kick it up with cayenne or chili seasoning in the breadcrumbs. Or add your favorite hot sauce to the egg mixture before dipping the chicken. 🔥❤️‍🔥
  • Use spray olive oil if you have it, but if not, no worries. Just drizzle a little on each side. Just a little will do it.
  • This recipe is kid-friendly! Big kids, little kids, spouses, whatever size or age you wanna feed!
  • If you're watching carbs, ditch the bread crumbs, crush up a bag of pork rinds, and dredge the chicken in that after dipping in the eggs. 
  • Dip the chicken tenders in your favorite sauce and serve them with a side of coleslaw or go the potato route with your favorite fries!
  • If you don't have an air fryer, go out and get one!! Just kidding, if you don't have one, make it in the oven. Pre-heat to 400 degrees and cook for 20 minutes or until cooked through and juices are clear. Still the best damn chicken fingers around!
