Top Ten Los Angeles Take Out Restaurants To Get You Through The Pandemic
No Shoes, No Pants, No Mask Required
Are you tired of cooking? Us too! After a year of undercooked pasta and cereal for dinner, we deserve an expertly crafted meal or two. Here is our round-up of the top ten take-out experiences in Los Angeles.
1. Ospi | Venice
Founded by seasoned restauranteurs Jackson Kalb & Melissa Saka, Ospi specializes in Southern Italian Cuisine. Antico Forno Roscioli's techniques, the Roman Meca of baked goods, inspires Ospi's pizza. Featuring "omana tonda-style" cracker-thin crusts, their expanding pizza offerings are sure to impress your pallet. You cannot go wrong with their signature Vodka pizza (pictured above) happy feasting!
2. Bites & Bashes | Lomita
Mother-daughter culinary duo Julie and Crystal Coser have been dishing up artisanal catering prepared by Cordon Bleu-trained chefs for celebrities and passed presidents since 2015. Now you can have the same brunch as the stars, all without having to put on pants. Ahh, celebrities they really are just like us.
3. Great White Rotisseria | Venice
Why did the chicken cross the road? He was late for his shift at Great White. Need an easy dinner for two, or one if you're extra hungry, we've got you covered. All-natural rotisserie chicken slathered in spices and herbs paired with roasted potatoes and beet whip dip, basket not included.
4. Porridge + Puffs
Nestled in the historic Filipino Town lies a communal dining table where meals and memories are shared between friends and complete strangers, who may become the prior. The table is lined with Asian-inspired cuisine, shortribs, slaw, chicken porridge, beautiful pastries, and smiling faces. While this is a list of best take-out, the environment that is fostered at Porridge + Puffs is one worth mentioning. Add to cart and good times will ensue.
5. Sonoratown Taqueria
Founded in 2016 by Teodoro Diaz-Rodriguez, Jr. and Jennifer Feltham, 25-year veterans in the culinary space. The taqueria is an homage to the small Mexican border town where Teodoro grew up, bringing the legendary carne asada of the region to the heart of Downtown LA. The food is authentic and mouthwatering, so much so it has inspired a book coming 2021. Try out the "Burrito 2.0" with chorizo ... you may have to unbutton your pants to make room but that's okay, Zoom is from the chest up.
6. Poppy + Rose
With a title like "best chicken and waffles in Los Angeles," Poppy + Rose needs little introduction. Founded in 2014 by fried chicken aficionados, Chef Michael Reed and Kwini Reed, this gem has received much-earned recognition for serving up elevated country classics to the people of Los Angeles. With their entire menu being crafted from scratch, you cannot go wrong, place their menu on shuffle and it is sure to please.
7. Eat Drink Americano
" We make food that makes you feel good". EDA's motto is one we can get behind, who couldn't use a little comfort right now? Veggie and cheese empanadas paired with a hibiscus margarita is a match made on bumble... like the kind you'd take home to mom.
8. Wake and Late
The best breakfast burritos... Don't question us just eat it... Shhhh you'll love it.
9. Badmaash
Hipster-Indian-street-food is the only way to describe this unicorn restaurant. No, the Chicken Tikka Masala doesn't come with a handlebar mustache... that would be a total selling point for us though. Try the butter chicken and some Boss Sauce on top, your lips will be smacking for more.
10. Fat Sals
A classic for any 20-something-college-kid in Los Angeles, we've had more than our fair share of these frankenstein sandwiches in our day. If you are a meat-eater, maybe a couple of white claws in and have some drunchies try the Fat Bruin cheeseburger. Chili, crispy bacon, onion rings, fried eggs, fries, garlic aioli, ketchup on a hero... Yeah, this will cure your hangover.
Is your Postmate driver almost there yet? We're hungry too. Take this as a sign to order in tonight. #yourewelcome
