Oh, the smile when presented with the first cup of the day

Coffee has been around for a long time in fact, the popularity of coffee has been around since the 15th century. Coffeehouses were popular starting in 1646 in France, during the 1700's in Germany, and in Poland in the 18th century. A drink to have lasted this long has to be popular for a reason, right? Today, we drink coffee in many different ways including espresso, cappuccino, lattes are popular as well as Irish coffee, Turkish coffee, drinking it iced or hot it continues to be popular in many cultures and with all age groups.

Many people swear it is impossible to be fully awake unless they have had a cup of coffee. Coffee is typically the first thing most people drink upon waking. There have been many businesses built around the popularity of coffee such as Starbucks which was founded on March 31, 1971, in Seattle WA. It has grown to a multinational chain of coffeehouses because of the popularity of the drink. Other popular coffee chains in America include PJ's Coffee, Dunn Bros Coffee, Dutch Bros. Coffee, and Dunkin' Donuts just to name a few others of coffee popularity.

Coffee is consumed at meals, during breaks, after the workday, after dinner, and even before bedtime. Most people add sugar, cream, or milk to the hot beverage though there are a lot of people who prefer to drink it black.

My favorite coffee tastes more like a dessert and is called a Frappuccino. It is coffee/espresso that is blended with ice and is usually flavored with vanilla, caramel, or some other favorite topping.

Many coffee drinkers have a favorite coffee bean from which the coffee is made such as the sweeter more complex flavor of the Arabica beans. You also have the bitter-tasting Robusta beans which are most often associated with espresso drinks or coffee mixes. It has a high caffeine content which is popular with those who find it difficult to feel truly awake in the morning without their cup of joe!

There are many reasons for the popularity of coffee from the awesome taste, the caffeine habit that can't be broken, the status symbol of having a cup of coffee with co-workers, friends, or family, or the habit of drinking it with your meal. It is hard to deny the popularity of coffee when so many people consume it all over the world. What is your favorite coffee drink?
