In case you’re not familiar with the term, the turf is steak, and surf is a lobster tail. Typically, the steak is a filet minion or rib-eye. However, you should always ask because some restaurants consider sirloin strips and shrimp surf and turf. Nope, not to me.

Though, it’s enjoyable if it’s cooked right. I like both items quickly seared, separately in a frothy butter and garlic mix. Both the sirloin and the shrimp will get tough if you cook them for too long. Then, squeeze fresh lemon on the shrimp once it is plated.

The Travelin' Lobster

The Travelin’ Lobster has fresh lobster caught that day. Dozens of other dishes are centered around the much-loved seafood. Their hours are set seasonally and change often, so call ahead, (207) 288-8028. They stop their waitlist an hour before closing to ensure they close on time.

If you order online, it will only be 30 minutes until you can pick it up at the restaurant. Get a lobster dinner, mussels, and corn on the cob for just $22. By the way, that’s a pound and a half lobster!

Rose Eden Lobster

The restaurant is on-site at the Rose Eden cottages, where you can stay. You can get live or cooked lobster, choice clams, and marvelous mussels. They deliver to local campgrounds, motels, and cottages. The Lobster dishes and uncooked lobster are prepared to go at your convenience. If you’re in the mood for some crab, they have that too. Rose Eden’s will re-open for the 2021 season on 19 May.

C-Ray Lobster

At the C-Ray Lobster, you can order live lobster to be shipped to your home at your convenience or to friends anywhere in the US — guaranteed to arrive alive.

You can also order from their sizeable lobster-centered menu and pick it up at the restaurant. Also, order beer or wine (ask about Maine alcohol take-out policy, it has been updated since the pandemic) if you want to pair one with their deciduous dinners or desserts. There are food options for the whole family so that you can go as a group.

You can choose from the many Seafood options and a variety of other foods, including gluten-free options. There are food options for the whole family and more.

However, if you love something a bit spicy, try their Spicy Buffalo Lobster Roll, with Beal’s Buffalo Buttah. Be sure to try a hefty bowl of Lobster Stew on the side. There’s nothing like it anywhere, and you’ll be full.
