With the keto diet, you eat a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet.

The theory is that this lowers the levels of insulin in your blood and helps your body burn fat for energy.

Here are some of the best keto diet recipes:

1) Churro Mug Cake: Here's a recipe for one of the most delicious mug cake recipes you will ever make.

Ingredients :

- 1/ 2 cup of almond flour

- 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted

- 2 large eggs at room temperature

- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

- 3 tablespoons of Swerve confectioner's sweetener or equivalent amount of other low carb sweeteners

- 1/4 teaspoon of salt

- 1/ 2 teaspoon of baking powder

Instructions :

In a medium bowl, add all dry ingredients and whisk well. Add wet ingredients and mix until well combined. Transfer the mixture into a greased mug or ramekin.

Microwave for 50 seconds. Once done, top with whipped cream and cinnamon if desired. Serve immediately.

2) Keto Pancakes:

Ingredients

- 3 tablespoons of coconut flour

- 1 tablespoon of golden flaxseed meal

- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder

- Pinch of salt

- 3 large eggs at room temperature

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 7 drops of stevia glycerite or any other low-carb sweetener to taste. You can also try dipping the pancakes in butter or cream cheese

Ingredients

- 4 large eggs at room temperature

- (Optional) 1/ 8 teaspoon of cream of tartar

- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder or onion powder (optional). You can also try adding your favorite herbs and spices to the batter.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 300°F. Separate the egg whites from two of the eggs. Add cream of tartar to the egg whites and whip them with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form about 3-5 minutes.

In a separate bowl, add in the yolks and whisk until almost combined. Then slowly fold in ⅓ of the whipped egg whites into the yolks, and mix until fully incorporated. Repeat with the rest of the egg whites until all combined.

Spread out the mixture evenly into a greased baking sheet or silicone mat lined sheet. Bake for 15-25 minutes until golden brown on top and cooked throughout. Let it cool down before slicing in half to create two portions from one loaf.

3) Cheesy Chorizo Skillet:

Ingredients :

- 1 chorizo sausage, sliced thinly or chopped. You can also use ground beef instead.

- 1 cup of kale, roughly chopped into smaller pieces. Place the stem away from you and chop it down to remove it from the leaves. Chop up the leaves into smaller chunks.

- Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to taste

- Optional: 1/4 cup of your preferred salsa or to taste

- Optional: 4 tablespoons of cream cheese for a creamier version

Instructions :

In a pan over medium heat, add oil or butter. Add garlic, onion powder, and chorizo sausage.

Fry until the chorizo is cooked through evenly. Add in the kale leaves and cook until wilted

Add salt and pepper to taste, along with your preferred salsa if desired

Remove from heat and top with cream cheese if desired

Serve immediately.

4) Green Smoothie:

Ingredients

- 1 cup of spinach, chopped into smaller chunks. Place the stem away from you and chop it down to remove it from the leaves.

Chop up the leaves into smaller chunks. You can also add in kale or any other leafy green instead of spinach if desired.

- 1 cup of frozen blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries

- 1 cup of almond milk (can also use coconut milk)

- Optional: sweetener such as stevia to taste if desired

Instructions

Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until it reaches your preferred consistency. Serve right away.

5) Garlic Chicken with Cabbage

Ingredients

- 1 lb of chicken thighs or breasts, cut into strips or cubes

- 3 tbsp of butter

- 2 tbsp of minced garlic

- Salt, pepper, and onion powder to taste. You can also try using your favorite herbs and spices instead.

- 1 head of cabbage, chopped into smaller chunks. Place the stem away from you and chop it down to remove it from the leaves. Chop up the leaves into smaller chunks.

Instructions

Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Throw in your chicken and your seasonings and cook until the chicken is fully cooked through (about 5 minutes). Add in cabbage to wilt. Serve warm or cold

6) Cheesy Bacon Burger:

Ingredients

- 1 lb of ground beef, turkey, or pork

- 6 tbsp of bacon bits

- 6 tbsp of shredded cheddar cheese

- Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. You can also try adding your favorite herbs and spices to the meat instead.

Instructions

Shape ground beef into 6 equally sized patties. In a bowl, mix your bacon bits and cheese together with a spoon. Place a generous amount of it on top of 3 of the patties and top with the other 3 patties to create your burger. Press down firmly on the edges and make sure they are sealed tight before cooking. Cook in a frying pan over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side or until cooked through fully. Serve warm

7) Cheesy Cauliflower Breadsticks

Ingredients

- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

- 4 handfuls of fresh basil, roughly chopped

- 1 large egg yolk

- 1/2 tbsp Italian seasoning or your preferred herbs and spices instead

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 F. Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.

Add all of your ingredients into a food processor and blend until the mixture is smooth and forms batter similar to dough.

You can also do this by hand if you don't have a food processor. Divide the batter evenly between 4 even portions of the baking sheet and roll each portion out so that they form breadsticks.

Use a fork to make lines on top of each breadstick and add more cheese if desired. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese has melted fully. Serve warm by itself or with marinara sauce.
